Are there any ufos You try to shoot down at any cost? Assault ship puts a lot of troops buldings and can be pain in a ...... to clear. I hate those suicide andropod with shields and vortex mines in buildings. Can I indentify a ship which will make micronoids raid? I just witnessed two but luckily nothing happened? They did their trick to the nearest buldings from dimension gate.

If corporate is infiltrated by micronoids what happens to it's relations to another corporations? I could imagine that infiltrated corporations ally with cult asap.

Well, the only thing I can make certain of, is that it will ally any other organizations which are controlled by aliens, which in most cases Is the Cult.

Although I have seen the cult raided by alien controlled organIzations when the cult Isnt under alien control. O_o..

Allying the aliens doesnt seem to be enough, would seem you need to be controlled by them as well. ^^'

I hate fast attack ships too. They're hard to shoot down at the start of the game. They're nothing to worry about once you get medium disrupters, but that doesn't stop me from hating their guts.

Another one I dislike almost on the same level as the fast attack ship is the Type-5 Destroyer. That's the one with the dedicated inversion missile launcher. That's nasty as it's hard to avoid getting damaged by this thing until you get some good shields. This one usually gets concentrated fire to bring down quickly, if only to get it out of the way.

The only UFO that you MUST shoot down right away and assault is the Type-3 transport. It's critical to winning the game, and then it drops almost completely out of production after a while. It might make rare reappearances later, but it's better to be safe than sorry.

Ones I like to shoot down right away include the... oh what was the name? Assault ship? The type-6. The short stumpy carrot shaped ship. It's quite easy to shoot down and often provides you with a sample of the must-have medium disrupter. It's a pushover - both in the air and on the ground. :)

The escorts are also pushovers, since they don't deal any damage apart from firing their stassis missiles. You can ignore the freezing effect as you can just switch over to manual and keep firing your guns.

The two capital ships are by no means easy ships to take down. However they're such big targets that it's hard not to miss them. The others are slightly harder if only because of their smaller size and agility.

They're very hard to miss, but you're right about them being tough. You can barely penetrate their hull with most weapons that you can buy. Even the Lineage has trouble. The rumble cannon has no trouble at all, but it's limited mobility hurts it a lot.

The medium disrupters on the other hand cut through their hulls like a hot knife through dribbly butter. Just get closer and halt in mid air so that you don't spin around so much. In fact, if you don't have medium disrupters, you might want to leave the capital ships be until you do.

About micronoid rain, capital ships can use micronoid rain. I've frequently seen a lone mothership pop in for a infiltration drop, only to drop micronid rain on odd occasion. Luckily it's no more effective than one dropped by an unmanned probe. Unlike the normal infiltration drops. 2 full scale fixed layout maps side by side... love those missions. Especially when it's the slums or in the small apartment buildings.

Lately there has been a lot of alien bomber missions. They are quite evasive so it means lot of shots into buildings. At first I let them go but there has been so much bomber missions that I had react to them. They allways attack my allies, not picking random targets but my allies. I don't know is it worth of it because politics are really weird now. It seems that in near future I have no allies perhaps except Megapol and Goverment. Alien bombers are very annoying when appearing often.

Do anybody use stasis missile? I put launcher in my annihilator and downing a mother- or battleship is very easy. It's short time but they get so many hits when frozen that it is soon over.

Yep, stassis missiles are jolly good. Well, they're worth more in utility than the disrupter inversion missile launcher. Good missiles by the way, the inversion missiles. It's just that they're pretty redundant by the time you get them, and the ammo takes too long to build.

With stassis missiles, you have to make sure you take control of the hard points on the ship that's carrying it and switch the stassis missiles on and off as you need them. Otherwise the AI will waste the missiles by firing the missiles into a UFO that's already frozen. This doesn't compound onto the existing effect, so the missile ends up wasted.

---

As for the bombers, if they attack your allies, let them. This will make your allies hate the aliens even more and support any of your future efforts against the aliens. You get the added bonus of having the attacked buildings use their infinite supply of defenders and any additional damage that the UFOs deal to nearby buildings will only further improve your relations with the affected organisations. Yes, politics in this game are very wacky indeed. With the exception of the negative weekly score, staying out of the conflict actually improves your relations. Very wacky indeed.

The only time I'd be pro-active and actively attack a UFO on a straight bombing run (like the Apocalypse mission) is when they are dangerously close to your own bases or when they're directly attacking the bases. Or, when you want to shoot them down and do the ground missions.
