Opponents Resigning

Hi,

what happens when my opponent resign? Few times he disconnected and i got "results sreen" with me winning. Sometime i get stuck in the game and i must resign and score is not shown.

I should have 5 wins more than now, this resigning thing piss me off.

Should we make a blacklist for players who are not fair enough to lose?

I quote from what I said in The results table topic

"We really don't need a blacklist. People will get mad at us if someone lied that someone exited the game when they didn't intentionally do it. Many conflicts will result in it. The best thing to do to a player that quits on you is not to play them anymore."

In other words...No...don't put people on the blacklist. I know how you feel but it doesn't matter if you win or not on the results table. What matters that you know how good you are...not how the people will see you.

Well, i can agree with you. Maybe development team can do something here. Like if you losing and resign, result should be calculated with you winning this game. If you smashing your opponent and quit, that can mean you didn't do it on purpose.

No, that will just make other people still get mad at us because they "had" to go. Also, I mind you that I have beaten 5 units with one guy. So this would not be truely fair because people can argue that they could've countered it, but they had to leave.

Just use your judgement if you are willing to play him again. If you don't want to, then you don't have to. This seems to be the best solution.

I still have difficulty understanding this...

Doesn't the ship with the arrow up button mean "I've lost this battle, and I resign"? Or does this refer to people who close their clients? Or does the ship up button calculate the win based on points?

I think we should have a resign button. One that brings an alert window up saying, "by clicking this, you are saying that you give up, have lost, and will not whine about it." Then the other player gets points for the game.

Think like the universal symbol of resigning in chess (knocking your king over). Just make sure the resigning playing knows, "hey by doing this I am saying I've lost."

What would be good is a win by default screen. if a player quits before the end of a match the remaining player wins by default. this would only be the case in a remote exit , not a connection loss. seeing as how both situations are handled differently by the server, in theory it wouldnt be too hard to implement

Exactly. There is no way to resign now. If you got smashed by your opponent and there is no way to win you can't say "ok, buddy, you are way better, i give up, you have won". Maybe somebody doesn't know that ship up button is something not fair.

And one other thing. If your opponent quit the game, you are stuck in the game until you realize something is going on. A message telling that guy has quit would be good.

CRCs are when one computer says kills happened to X and Y did, and the other says that X died and that Y did it

It is very common on the beta, if someone is killed by explosives that were on the ground and from an explosive launched at them then both the one who threw the explosives(if primed) and whoever set them off gets a kill... also, if you kill your own soldier then you get a point... believe me, i've gotten 38 total kills on a 12 on 12 game once

i get bad crcs lots but nothing ever happens - wot is it?

As Blehm said. In the case of a CRC, it's when two things don't match. So if Player 2 kills one of Player 1's soldiers, but when P1 comes around to look at his soldiers stats and he's taken no damage at all, that's a CRC Error.
