I need to see how many people used that seach field that is at the top right of the index page. I'm trying to get rid of the clutter that is at the top and it is something that I personally do not use anyway.

I use it occassionally - particularly when the normal view new posts breaks for some reason. I would add an 'occassionally' option.

Okay, I changed the first option to "occasionally" and inserted a fifth choice of "all the time."

Please keep in mind that I'm refering to the search box that only shows up on the main index page. The seach box at the bottom of all topic views will still be there.

where would people otherwise do a search?

They would click on the "Search" button at the top of every screen (up there with Help, Members, and Calender. With that up there, I was hoping to be able to cut out the search field near the top on the right on the main index.

I don't use that. I'd rather have some other advanced features, like, for instance, a disabled flood control for searches? (nag nag nag)

ocasionally, when i need to search for something on the whole forum. quicker than loading the Search page
