Yeah, actually, it did! It flew by an asteroid and a freakin comet :blink: and was retired in 2001. Yay for Astronomy Pictures of the Day!

In other news aparently pulse detonation engines are the flavor of the month(I read it in Popular science). Instead of burning they explode reapetedly which is apperently more efficient :huh?:

 

That's what the interceptor in x-com used, although considering as they're being prototyped (If that's a verb) now, I don't see how they got one in 1999.

 

Those Guys were surprisingly accurate though.
