The music in the DOS version of X-com rocks. How can I get the DOS battlescape music on the windows version (called UFO)? I got the patch that fixes alien screams, timers, and makes the music play through directmusic, however, my FAVORITE thing, the battlescape music, is still the windows crap.

Does anyone know how to get the DOS battlescape music in UFO for windows?

No, but you can get the Playstation music through this patch : http://www.xcomufo.c...?showtopic=7503

Am I the only one who thinks DOS version and windows version music sounds the same?

I think what he means is the Windows XP built-in Wavetable Synth. He wants the old FM sounds. Just use DosBox ;)

I want to use dosbox. I just have this really annoying half-second lag after everything I do.

I'm running an a64 3400+, radeon x800 vid card, with 1 gig of pc3200 ram. Yet dosbox still runs like donkey. How can I make it not be slow? I have my CPU cycles set to 17500, and the combat seems okay, with only a little bit of cursor lag.

Oh, and how do I get the old alien death screams back? These retarded WUGHHHHS are awful, I want the screeching.

I just thought of a workaround for this:

Could there possibly be a way that I could do that patch, then only have it replace my battlescape music? Because I could do an mp3 recording directly from what my computer is outputting when dosbox runs and goes to the dos x-com battlescape. So I could make an Mp3 of the dos version's battlescape music, then use this patch to hear it in the windows version?
