If you have the DOS version, it will work. The Windows version doesn't, but there's a patch by BladeFireLight that works for some people.
Thanks. I have the patch but don't know how to use it. It opens a 'browser' window, and I click on the 'TFTD.exe' link and it starts working, but I get an error message. Where can I get the dos version of X-Com?

Can you make a screenshot of the error message and the root folder of the game?
The DOS version of TFTD will soon be available on Steam as an update to the current game already there.
Hi Gimli, thanks for trying to help me.
Here are the screenshots:
The root foler is J:\Terror\TFTF\xcom2.exe

What I get when I click on xcom2.exe is a big black screen, no sound, nothing. It only gives me the 'x-com has stopped working' message if I click or press any button.
Now, if I use the xcom2fix.exe patch/thingie it asks me to locate the executable. I find xcom2.exe, click on it, screen goes black as if going into game (same as above), but then quits and gives me this message:

Hope that helps.
