Migrating To Xna 2.0

XNA 2.0 has been released

We need to start thinking about plan to migrate existing codebase to XNA GS 2.0.

Biggest issue is probably converting CeGUI.

Red Knight, any comments?

Definititely XNA 2.0 is the way to go, a lot of improvements have been done (including hierarchical components so we should take the oportunity to revisit our own implementation of that feature). I agree that as always CeGUI will be the biggest issue, the rest is quite compatible.

Just wanted to let you all know I have XNA 2.0 installed, now that I reinstalled Windows. (the one cure to every problem!)

Oh and Xenocide seems to work on Vista x64. :P

So Xenocide works on XNA 2.0? Not bad :)

No, Xenocide only runs on XNA 1.0 refresh (think Service Pack 1). I was holding off on the migration until SupSuper moved. Now that that's done, I can look at migrating. Probably after we have the 0.4 build release, as that's my focus at the moment.

Speaking of SupSuper, how are the new GUI controls going?

Also, I note that there's a new Dream, Build, Play competion about to start.

Any thoughts about entering Xenocide? At worst, it will be disallowed because:

1. There's too many team members.

2. It doesn't run on a XBox 360

3. It's not finished.

4. It's not original. (And is too close to copyright infringement for MS's lawyers.)

Why not - it won't hurt.... :)

It's a bit of a mixed bag, since I'm busy with college and the WSX developer is busy with work, so I haven't gotten much to post about.

There is support for all the basics. XML skinning, XML layouts, plenty of controls, and WSX is fairly simple to extend for our own purposes. However there's a fair share of bugs in WSX that need to be worked out. We also use Columned Listboxes extensively so we'll need a control for that as well.
