Robo Dojo 58
Let's face it folks- not every single day is cloudless with a temperature in the low 70's(F). Sooner or later, your agents will find themselves fighting aliens in the rain, or in the snow. There would be variables to keep track of the weather at a battlescape site. They would be used to add decorative features to show the weather. Interactive puddles(splash), streams, mud, and snow would replace normal grass and crops on the battlescape. A rain/snow effect will be shown, to show that it is, in fact, raining or snowing, and possibly affect the puddles or streams. Other effects would include: fog, hail, wind, and maybe even water level for flooded areas. The basic idea is to show that your agents are tough enough to endure the toughest conditions just to nab a UFO. Or, maybe the weather is so harsh, that you have to high-tail it out of there. The aliens probably wouldn't have made it, either.
Magstar
Sounds like an awesome idea. I'd fight all my battles in South East asia just so I could see my X-Corp boys wading through waist-deep rice paddies in beating rain to breach the hull of a half submerged UFO.
