fux0r666
I found this script for converting files between 3ds max formats, from about 3d Studio MAX R 2.5 to Discreet 3ds max 6. The exporter saves the file in a 3rd party format, allowing more max information to be preserved than .obj or .3ds files. Check it out here: http://www.scriptspot.com/bobo/darkmoon/bff/ Edited January 29, 2006 by fux0r666

Darkhomb
This can also helphttp://www.righthemisphere.com/support/hel...ile_formats.pdf Deep exploration reads versions from 4.0 to 7.1 and can import/export to them, I will be grabbing this and testing it for the conversions between maya and max. Also polytrans seems like a very good program and I will be testing that as well. http://www.okino.com/conv/conv.htm I was converting manually but had some problems and put it on hold for a bit but if this can do it for me.. well yeah
fux0r666
The advantage of this is that it is a plugin that's free, and you don't have to learn another software program. Also, it's very small in size.
