Last day i used a boomeroid. it is an excellent grenade type. But you must know it's parameters to correctly use it

Time:
When the grenade will become active

Range:
Grenade's explosion range, NOT ACTIVATION!!!

The boomeroid actually detects your movement! It's range is very long. it detects every movement in a radius of nearly a SCREEN!!!

now i use them to clen the inside of ufos, or finding the last aliens

Yes it's great weapon in UFOs or for fighting enemy organizations in their building. The only trouble, that if your boomeroid thrower is under enemy fire he can react trying to hide behind the wall and it will be boomeroided.
It's great weapon for "throw and hide" tactics. It's not SO useful in real time.

It explodes,(it is its function ),but if the enemy is quite close,it can work.
It's just a good theory. And the shields won't be that mutch damaged.Even a little charge can save yer life-it recharges-i always cover the damaged unit and they will recharge and swing into action fully functonal....Rock & Roll, baby :uzzi: :aliencool:

Yeah, I use boomeroids VERY near my own guys when they're surrounded by those irritating little worms. It never destroys my shields, and it pretty much turns the friggers into meat.

I throwed a boomeroid near 3 chrysalis ... how stupid is that... then the boomeroid started going after my guy !! :crying:
How does a boomeroid work? Will it track movement and only explode when touching somebody be it alien/agent/civilian? Will it open doors and go up elevators and stuff? :huh?:
How about its settings?

Boomeroids are A.M.T.D.D.s
--->Advanced Motion Detecting Detonation Device!!!

They only sense movement, and they sense movement in a very wide radius. And crysalis's never move!!! Do the multplication

NOTE: To use them against stopping targets, try using them by right! clicking on them. That'll make them detonate on impact...

 I have just come up with a question (that means my brain is still functioning)...

Have you ever had an alien egg turned into a multiworm in real time? or turn based? The ufopaedia says the entire life cycle is about 10-12 days... could it be that you're just lucky enough to be there the exact time when a crysalis evolves? or when an alien egg turns into a multiworm? :hate:

:huh?: hm.... or maybe a lost hyperworm tries to morph into a crysalis... tough questions...
 Has something like that happened to anyone?

But then I developed toxin B... boy this weapon RULEZ!! :aliencool: ..... now running like crazy around alien ships with a toxigun in one hand and a cloak device in the other hand :uzzi:

Auto shot costs only 1 Time-unit... I always shoot them from 1 square away: take that you slimy alien :bash: :alienoooh: :devillaugh: :hate: the shots go through shields and cloak devices like knife through butter :birthday:

I also had some "difficulties" with Nutrivend. They are far too rich to be forced into debt. But they burn well after all.

Problem is that they will start raiding your bases. Levelling their buildings isn't a good idea because that way you will get in trouble with the government also and you will have to pay for "city damage" when you get your balance. And raiding them brings almost no money, just fun. So maybe later in the game try to get an agreement with them and better make Psyke your enemy, this is far more "rewarding" considering their Psiklons. :P

I'm sorry, I honestly don't know how to use other smilies in this forum.

 Sorry to change ideas so quickly.. :uh:

I'm wondering about shields (both human and aircraft). The Ufopaedia says something like if a shield takes more damage than it can absorb then it would disintegrate. Ok done that, it's gone, have to replace it <_<

What if I equip a vehicle with 2 shields? Will they both disintegrate at the same time after the cumulated damage has been inflicted or will one disintegrate before the other?

And it seems to me that the large shield is a rip-off! You could have 2 small shields which will total 400 points just like the big one and they would only require 8 equipment slots instead of the big's 9 slots!

The same thing applies to personal shileds. I could equip a soldier with 4 shields (ok, that's stupid as he wouldn't have any weapon in his hands :birthday:  . Will all shields still hold until the last one's blown out? That could save me some money as I wouldn't lose so many shields and the soldiers would be better protected!  B)

I know I should experiment that but another threat appeared at the horizon... :whatwhat: :alientalk: MY WIFE! - she won't let me play anymore... :bash: :spank: :hammer: :boxing:

Tzutzy <wonders if there's a way he could grab a stun grapple... they say stun grapples have little side effects when used on civilians> :devillaugh: :devillaugh:

:o    I don't think there is anything we could do about your wife not letting you play Apocalypse! :P :D I think grapplers won't work on wifes.

But I can answer to your other questions. When you use more than one shield, after taking some damage the first shield gets lost... You still have the second until you suffer more damage.

Shields recover when you give them some time, so try to stay away with ships or soldiers who took fire and the shields are low. The shields will refresh. No need to lose them.

I also recommend using more small shields for a ship instead of using one big shield. In heavy fights I use 2 shields / soldier, just in case.

Have fun! :uzzi: :aliencool:

I can't improve the ranks of my soldiers... :crying: :chicken:

Extract from Roger Wong's Strategy guide
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Rank Prerequisite
Rookie None
Squaddie Must earn over 8 combat rating points
Squad Leader (Rookies + Squaddies) / (Squad Leaders + 1) is more than 4
Sergeant Squad leaders / (Sergeants + 1) is more than 2
Captain Sergeants / (Captains + 1) is more than 2
Colonel Captains / (Colonels + 1) is more than 2
Commander No commander, and more than one Colonel
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Now here's my situation:
2 sergeants
9 squad leaders
23 squaddies
1 rookie (just got him a few minutes ago :D) it seems the rookie market has gone down, so did the engineer's market, and I need about more 40 engineers

Do you have any idea why they won't promote anymore? Poor Cult of Sirius :alienlol: is in big dept because of me trying to improve my soldier ranks.. they are the training grounds for that

Thanks! :) O:)

Never met X-Com technology stuf, but about sold one: Once I just discovered (didn't sell any) Disruptor Gun. I raided Diablo and they had Disruptors already, but I didn't sell 'em ones... Industrial spies? ;) I think that game just adds researched equipment to other organizations (Note: Alien Controlled Organizations already got alien stuff from their suporter and no need to wait for your researchers)

That would explain why :bash: :uzzi: Cult of Sirius is ALWAYS well equipped when I raid them, although there are only 10-15 seconds between raids (I luckily have one of my bases just near a Temple) as their balance is way under -$200.000!! :cussing:

And they only loose a couple of thousands each raid, but just one shield and one devastator cannon would cost much more than that! :crying:  :sorry:

But, actually it IS possible to set something on fire underwater (I have no idea how they did that but it is possible. They're just crazy ****). And T'Leth turned entire Earth's eco-sys destroyed, so Mega-Primus was created, as only place when you can live in good conditions.

T'leth is this huge last city in TFTD, it's underwater and it's REALLY BIG. When you send your leviathan to attack it, the aliens activate the self destruct sequence, so if you fail, T'leth rises above the ocean and explodes to destroy the whole world (OMFG, come to think of it, they REALLY HATE US!!!).

If you destroy T'leth, it explodes below water, not entirely destroying the whole world but pretty much crippling most of it. Therefore, the new city in Apocalypse.
Passenger ship terror site, first turn, I open the door of my Triton, there is a Tasoth up on the next floor (his back is facing the screen so I don't know what weapon he has).

One of my guys fire at him, hit, he reaction fires with Thermal Shock Launcher. The whole crew stunned. Mission over.

Yes. They are sneaky buggers, boomeroids. DO NOT APPROACH AN ARMED BOOMEROID ONCE IT IS THROWN.

The things can actually jump up and hurl themselves at you. Not pretty. Your best bet to get away is to RUN AWAY VERY FAST and duck around a corner. They aren't that smart and can't turn very fast, so they'll hit the wall.

You have been warned. The things are a bugger to avoid, but fortunately they can't be made to work like proximity mines (ie, they won't sit there and then hop at you to go off later) although they can for a very short period. (Max 7.5 seconds)

In addition, the US government DOES NOT exist in Apoc. If you have Interceptor, the little pamphlet thingy gives you much more background info. The US, Canada, and Mexico (but not Alaska - they seceded) joined together to make the North American Alliance, or NAA.

Speaking of the government, does anyone else find it disconcerting that the symbol for Mega-Primus' gov't is a gigantic eyeball? Big Brother is watching.
