I just installed X-com UFO defense and now when ever I start up my PC I get this error message: "systask32l.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close."

I didn't get this message before. I've had to re-install X-com a couple of times because I get some error and it won't launch.

I'm running Windows XP Professional.

I've search all over the Internet for errors with this file but I can't find anything that is relavant.

Any ideas?

Ok. First off, this is the support forum for XENOCIDE an xcom remake. You should probably post your problem in the xcom 1 support forums.

However, I will try to help you now. Do you have the CE (aka gold editon) ? Dos version is terrible when you try to run it in windows. Otherwise, Micah or Stjones may be able to help you where I cannot.
I'm only partially inactive. :P I can still be reached at cpl.facehugger@gmail.com, and via PM. Preferably the former.

seem to have missed this thread, but anyway, I think you should probably run a virus scanner :) .
