afet waching the closing seromonys of the 2004 athens games and finding out that the 2008 games will take place in bejiing i thought it would make a good side quest if the aliens tryed to teroise the 2008 games and you have to stop them

it would go something like this

in july 2008 you get a mesige from the olympic comity asking if you would make shure the aliens dount try to F*** things up if you say no nouthing happens and the olympics go of whithout a hich
but if you say yes you get a free base in bejiing
and the aliens atack the games and you have to stop them from
1 killing the athleats
2 extinguishing the flame
3 killing the spectators
4 destroying the stadem
5 anything else thay think of

Hmmm, yeah, might be good, but is'nt Xenocide supposed to dust off in 2009?
In that case, we'd see the 2010 WINTER Olympics... :D

X-Corps is supposed to be a covert organisation, that would't frame too well. Besides, I think the X-Corps' commander has better things to worry about than protecting a flame and a bunch of athlets, they're trying to stop an invasion after all.

yah but the olympics would be the perfict opertunity for a teror mission and xcorps would do it covertly whering uniforms marked securicty and using conventional firearms (or maby laser and plasma dependig on how cominplace thay are)

It would be a good opportunity to earn some extra points with the governments, but as much as giving you a free base?. If you beat the aliens at the Olympics to gain twice as points as an ordinary terror mission, if you fail, you get whipped :spank:

the base is desmantled afet the games its just so you can respond to any threat quickly

and the quest would be optional if you say no the aliens dount atack and the games go of whitout a hich

Well, it would be funny as an easter egg, otherwise, I think the game's hosting country would have been one to BUY some of the alien artefacts... ^_^
