Stow
When I start the game in 1024x768 the mouse is fine until I get to the planetscreen. Then it seems like the cursor will only move if I move the mouse really slowly. If I try to move the mouse too fast the cursor won't move. Works fine in 640x480 mode though. UnFleshed One
Well, it is a bit jumpy on my machine on that settings... (PIII 1GHz, GeForce FX 5200)But it moves regardless of mouse speed. Edit: Although, it is considerably better on 16 bit color. red knight
Mhhh I see a recruit task in here, add a console command to show statistics (we will start with the FPS); just to discard that Stow's problem is not an efficience problem. Guest Azrael
Hmm, I have noticed this as well, but I thought it was because of the build itself, didn't realise could be a bug
Stow
I tried it on 800x600 and it didn't do it when I was zoomed out completely. But it did get progressively worse the more I zoomed in. Also, it only really did it when the cursor was actually over the planet. When it was over the toolbar on the right it was ok. I have an Athlon XP 2600+, 512 mb RAM, GeForce FX5200 video card running on Win XP Pro. eta: Just tried it on 1280x720 and it was bad unzoomed. Even on the toolbar though not as bad. Zooming in made it worse. Edited August 20, 2005 by Stow
red knight
Stow I have added an issue to add tools to investigate the problem that you are having. I am sure that we will be able to uncover the problem when the next progress release is done, or if you are crazy enough after we do the patch, you are able to compile it (BTW we are thinking how to automatize the building process so we are able to put every change inmediately available to anyone) GreetingsRed Knight
UnFleshed One
Well, Blob made a patch to show fps. And guess what? On ~10 fps (PIII 1000 MHz, 512 Mb RAM, geForce FX5200 128Mb, 800x600, 16 bit, windowed mode, options dialog poped up, ~10-15% CPU busy elsewhere) mouse is uncomfortable. Sometimes more so then other times. FPS drops 1-2 points when mouse moving, but on 8 fps it can still be OK, and it can be impossible, all in one session. I guess injection kind of drops out of sync with actual mouse feed and significant part of the feed is being lost. Is there any way to inject it regardless of fps? When I start the game, I get the option for openGL (1024x768) OR for directX(800x...).Inside the game I just cant open the graphics options.... greetz,... Darkhomb
The graphics options inside the game do not yet work. When you have the options for DirectX or OpenGL in the beginning click on the resolution and from there you can change which you want to have.
