Yet another Win7/DosBox question

I'm trying to run TFTDB using Dosbox.

I'm using Dosbox 0.74, my machine is using Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, 1.65GHz dual core processor and 8GB RAM.

The main issue is the speed the game runs at. It's really slow and choppy. Can anybody suggest a way to make it work at a decent speed? It's frustrating cos I had it running perfectly on my old Vista machine.

Secondly, I've got music, but no SFX. Does anybody know how to sort that?

Dosbox config file pasted below:

# This DOSBox configuration file was automatically created by D-Fend Reloaded.

# Changes made to this file will NOT be transfered to D-Rend Reloaded profiles list.

# D-Fend Reloaded will delete this file from temp directory on program close.

# Command line used when starting DOSBox:

# -CONF "C:\Users\Kev\AppData\Local\Temp\X-Com 2.conf" -NOCONSOLE

# Config file for profile "X-Com 2"

Please ignore this. The problem seems to be running Dosbox through D-Fend reloaded - it won't let me change the configuration. Running it directly through just Dosbox seems to fix the speed issue.

I've still got no SFX, but I can cope with that as the games is now working at a decent speed.
