Depends on where are you planning to put this? Geoscape? I think this would fit pretty well in geoscape.

yes, idd, something like geoscape or menu music.

 

 

add something like horns? or anything else?

I think it's pretty well thought as it is. You know, the kind of song you like to hear in an elevator even though you don't even actually notice you're listening anything. This fits that description perfectly! If you add some horns there or something, it distracts the player from the actual game and that's not good. I think it's pretty good now.

Atex, please don't think I'm badgering you...

 

The bass riff in the beginning of the song is dischordant and the minor chords it produces against the synthesizer are really harsh. They detract from the over all ambient nature of the piece. The bass also goes off the beat a few times which is at odds with the straight forward drum sequence. The second movement is free of anomalies, tho.

somehow, my sound card is screwed up with several types of music o.O is sounds really laggy and cheasy (nothing wrong with playing it in mediaplayer, but winamp and quicktime is acting really stupid).

 

gotten it into WMP. Sounds pretty good and high going, but that bass goes right into the ears. It might need to be lowered a bit.

 

sounds pretty peacefull. It is one of those songs that you get into your head :)

 

I like the break in the middle of the song. And its definietly is a song that can be baggroundmusic for the geoscape. Not that SCARY, but it sure doesn't need to be.

 

The only improvement i can see is that you might try to make it loop a bit better.

yes idd, i know, i didn't correct anything. Just playing once, copying and adding sfx.

 

Altough, the chords in the voices are almost all m7ths with upper extentions. And, the bass always goes like 1 - 7 - 1 - 7 on the chord that is played with the voices. Normally there are no mistakes. But, because it has been done really fast, maybe you're right. I didn't really listen to possible faults yet. The bass has also been quantised on 16ths, could be that it's off sync idd. I'll check it out.

 

Anyway, it's just a small concept track made on several small pauses during studying. Just having some fun I suppose ^_^

btw, the meaning of all those concepts is that in a couple of months, I'd like you guys to say which ones are good enough to finish. The rest will be trashmaterial.
