Brick-To-Face
So yesterday my dad was bragging about his collection of portable applications, and how now there's an app that tries to make other apps portable... First I was unimpressed, but then I found myself putting VLC player on my USB flash drive. All this got me thinking, does anyone think portable UFO2000 is possible? If so how possible/difficult would it be to make? I'll see what results I can get with my dad's "portibleizing" app, but no promises.... EDIT:Err, sorry, I guess I didn't make my definition of "portable" clear. By this I mean able to run on an x86 machine running some operating system (as far as I know there are either none, or very few cross-platform executables). For example this is the portable VLC player page: http://portableapps.com/apps/music_video/vlc_portable Edited October 31, 2006 by Brick-To-Face
Oldtype
What exactly do you mean by portable?Able to run from an USB-Stick?(already possible as far as I know, never tried though)Able to run on a handheld computer?(it is already ported to some cell phone I think...) Or something else? Look here:http://www.xcomufo.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=242024479 Edited October 31, 2006 by Oldtype

Serge
UFO2000 is already portable in this sense. It can be copied to USB flash or any other directory and run from it. The only purpose of the installer was to provide a smooth and easy upgrade path at the time when beta versions of UFO2000 had new releases almost each week.
