mamutas
What is your video card? What is your video card driver? What is in the logs created in the same directory where exe file is?
[[Micah]]
This is a fairly common problem with ATI radeon cards 8500 and earlier. I am guessing that is what the problem is... unfortunately, the problem will not be fixed for a while.

[[Micah]]
Okay, it is definitely the video card. If you take a look at the minimum system requirements on the download page, the faq, and the readme that is included with the alpha, the geforce2 and ati 8500 are the minimums. Your sis chipset is quite a bit below that minimum...

Guest ZeroCarontE
i am having the same problem, BUT i can see the globe, spin it, zoom it, its kinda cool the error log is exactly the same...im using a GeForce 2 MX200 64MB and tested with drivers 38.(something) and 41.09, and the higher version just gave me more fps
[[Micah]]
Are you having the problem with the text being displayed in the wrong place?
ZeroCarontE
yes, they are too much to the leftand when i exit the game (i guessed the last buttons) it does nothing... then i click and it quits, but the resolution doesnt go back, it stays 800x600 (i use 1024)
Guest Tripug
I'm having kinda the same problem, I can load the game up to the globe map, I can rotate it zoom, I can open the options menu, but all the other buttons just light up they don't open anything up... Is the game ready to play, or has all the menus and stuff not be implemented yet? I'm running a P4 1.7 GHZ1 gig of RAMGeforce FX 5900 Ultra Windows XP Pro SP 1 Any ideas? Guest Guest
Also, which is odd, I can click on the 5sec, 1 min, 1day buttons, but the clock doesn't advance at all, BUT I can see the Day/Night cycle spinning around the globe, mouse pointer seems fine.. I thought that it may have been my 56.72 Nvidia drivers, so I reverted them back to the 45.XX drivers that you had linked to, but same thing happens, so it's not that. Anyideas? btw that video card I have has 256MB of memory on it, don't know if that matters or not...

As you may note from reading the readme.txt included with the alpha:"This version of Xenocide is an ALPHA. As such, not all the features of Xenocide have been implemented. This is mainly a test of the Xenocide engine and a release to demonstrate our progress." The Master Maniac
I suppose that's that. Still, I wish I had a capatible card--I'd like to run the alpha just to see what it's like, anyway.
[[Micah]]
There's a video you can download which is an in-game capture. You can find it on the Xenocide Artwork: Videos page.
The Master Maniac
Well, so far it looks a great deal better than the original, I can safely say. Now, imagine that with clouds and city lights that come on in the night and you've got yourself one heck of a geoscape.
