Hi, there!

I had to restart my game due to common up to V2 bug.

Now almost half a year is over and I can't begin researching the M.C.-La, because I didn't find any M.C. Reader.
It's rediciulous, when you didn't think of it, you always had one in stock.

When you need one, suddenly every alien seems to refuse to carry one.

Do they come totally random or not?

Thanks!

Any MC-capable alien can carry one. Anyway, you don't need an MC Reader to research MC Lab, you just need any live terrorist. BUT (and this is a huge but), due to a bug in the game, you shouldn't research a live Deep One until you research Deep One Corpse, Aqua Plastics, Plastic Aqua Armor and Ion-Beam Accelerator, because then you won't get to research Magnetic Ion Armor which is needed to win the game. So, short version, research any live terrorist except a Deep One.

Sorry I misspoke a bit. You don't need an MC Reader to research the MC Lab but you do need to have one in inventory before you complete the MC Lab research or you will never get the MC Disruptor.

Equipment loadouts. That's one of the things we seem to be lacking on the wiki, though I know we've had discussions of them before and where they can be found in the game executables.

From what I can remember, as equipment loadouts change as the technology level changes, the MC reader becomes much harder to find. Easiest option is probably to edit one into stores, but you can certainly win the game without the MC Disrupter or MC Generator.

But of course, to do it the proper way, if TFTD is anything like UFO, your most likely bet in finding one would probably be in the very-small vessels: the Escort and Survey Ship. I'd probably go so far as to recommend investigating the Cruiser as well.
