Vaaish
Very nice... how many polys are you running at with it right now?
Deimos
That is very nice stuff Crix. How about when you've finished the armour putting it into an interesting pose. Maybe kneeling with a rifle in hand or standing in a macho pose like with his feet spread and fists on his hips, sort of a look how mighty I am pose. mikker
Very nice... how many polys are you running at with it right now?pssst.....do not ask that question! He'll answer in the tens of thousands!
Vaaish
Well the original he started with was either 1500, 1498 or ~1700. and if he is doing a high poly version I hope he didn't convert the whole thing to nurbs. From the looks of it he burned a good 300 on the face and separating the armor to individual pieces cost probably another 50 so if he is using poly I'd guess he is currently running at ~1800- 2050. that is unless he did something like tessellate the whole thing or subdivide it by 4. (not sure WHY you would want to do that on a in game mesh)

Vaaish
Crix on those shoulder pieces, they aren't faceted like that. They are supposed to be rounded. THe shading groups on the original should be set up wot give a good idea of what needs to be rounded and what faceted. other than that pretty nice.
