Does Xcom Run Easily On Vista Computer?

Im thinking of buying this game, which version should i go for- CE or original, i guess you haveto use dosbox for either? Is it easy to get it to run?

DOS version works with dosbox, CE doesn't work with it. There's a patch for Vista but it's still in a sort of beta stage, meaning that it may not work. It would be out of beta already, but unfortunately people are not willing to give feedback on the patch, so it's hard to pinpoint some problems.

I'd suggest you get the original and then DOSBox it. I have the CE version and it's a ***** to get to run under Vista, then when you finally get it to run the games (especially UFO Defense usually suffer from graphic glitches that really mess up your whole day (all that work for nothing...)

I was told that the version on Steam is the DOS version with Dosbox

Steam is using the DOS 1.4 version of the game so you should be good to go there. I believe Steam bundled the CE executable with the download though... you could check one of the folders in the steam directory to be sure.
