Q About Alien Item Availability

Recommended Posts

If I keep the city clean of infection and never sell a particular alien item, will it ever appear in the hands of the of the other corps?

This game 'superhuman' is based on the strategy that by week 4 the aliens will have unleashed every hostile tech on me. Currently its week 3 my score is in excess of 10k and I am being hit by skellys armed with disruptors, cloaks, sheilds and the dread armour distengrator.

My plan is to gain sheilds & cloaks in large numbers and repeat 'genuine - raid' sirius and perhaps a gang or two to fund a giant combat fleet + giant engineering expansion involving filling out 6 bases with biotrans factories. The money from this enterprise and also the raiding will ensure my supremacy.

Currently in a early shield/toxigun situation I have reached a spot where my hospital is persistantly full. The average alien mission means perhaps 0-5 guys in hospital and the average raid 0-2 guys in hospital. I have garrisons of 5 men in my R&D bases. I have about a further 25 in my main base that I rotate in and out of missions and hospital. In other news my fleet is all but destroyed I have 4 remaining bikes and the transport. I have killed the UFOs I have had to kill for research and can afford perhaps 2 or 3 sirius raids per day.

If I can use cloaks and sheilds and disruptor cannons in raids vs. conventional tech I will in effect be able to farm all and any raid situations using a shift-fire strategy destroying all the infrastructure with a long line of disruptor cannons. However if the game allows the enemy corps to gain these items the balance will be addressed and I may not be able to pull this off.

Alien and human tech are released on score-based schedule. That is to say, once your score meets a particular level, the tech will be available on the next tech update, which is either the end of the day or the week.

Tech for human guards come out a bit slower than alien tech and never gets as far as the dimension missile launcher or the teleporter. So no matter what you do, the human guards will eventually get alien tech.

As for your troop trouble - hire some androids. They can't train, which generally requires 100% health at midnight. Since they can't train, there's no need to keep them at full health the time. Have them stand out in front of your main troops to attract most of the attacks towards them, or have them do most of the fighting when your humans and hybrids require a bit of a rest.

I guess then selling all my alien tech will have to pay the bills instead.

Well, you could hold on to some of your alien tech for a bit. Hoard the Devestators, for example. Then sell off everything in one big lump to maximise your income. Selling bits and piece of alien tech decreases its sale price over time. I forget how low it gets, but I think it can go as low as 50% of the base value.

You're not losing out on anything by just selling alien equipment, but it's nice to get more money out of each one while the selling price is still high.

Hmm, it's been a while, but I wonder if you can abuse the economy in this game like you can in Morrowind or Fable? (i.e. sell all your stuff, then buy everything at the reduced bulk prices - earning money and more loot to sell in the same process)

Oh well.

The quantity minima and maxima would get in the way of that. The other abuse looks more promising (buying up things and then reselling).
