I have some sound effects to contribute. They are 'electronically generated sounds'

Really nice electronic retro sound for the game.

I got them from my local library. They have a sound FX cds available for check out.

Let me know how to get then into the project.

The Library has around 20+ CDs of sound fx available all with a suitable license for home sound projects. Other sounds are available.

That is interesting. Does they have a "Use for non commercial projects" sort of license?

IANAL, but that's how I understand the license, at least with this particular sound effects library. My local Library has other sets of CDs which have a license that's not as friendly, in my opinion. These CDs are titled: "BBC Sound Effects Library" and then some number and sub-title for the specific CD.

The three I checked out are:

#2 Exterior Atmospheres

#15 Rural Atmospheres

#19 Electronically Generated Sounds

I picked these out as they seemed promisingly applicable. The first two are appropriate for amibiant background sounds. The CDs has samples from day and night. #2 has city sounds. #15 has rural sounds, crickets and owls at night. birds in the day. That sort of thing. Each have 15 samples around four minutes each, plus or minus. The last CD has electronically generated sounds. It has 99 sample sounds in short duration. It has sliding door sounds, weapon blasting sounds, electronic motor humming sounds. I like these sounds- they are retro sci-fi sounds, like the original X-Com game. :-)

The License reads:

The Copyright in these recordings is vested in BBC Enterprises Ltd. The conditions of sale allow use of the discs in audio, video and film productions in perpetuity and subsequent broadcast, sale, hire and public exhibition or productions incorporating the effects without further charge.

THE RECORDINGS MAY NOT BE USED IN ANY FORM OF SUB-LICENSE.

So, the way I understand it, these sound effects can be used, just have to give credit the the source.

There's other CDs available in the series. Mostly seems applicable ambiant sounds for differnet cultures. (Africa, Turkey, etc) I thought these other sounds would be good for tactical scenes in other areas, too. But I started off with these three discs.
