well, i think i'll take Xcom Humour and Xcom Art in the Ontopic Area.

what i'm asking is what i can do and what do i have to do as a moderator? do i get to move posts from those forums to proper forums or Alien Containment? close threads that don't need to go on? etc.

As you said SupSuper, keeping the posts on topic and moving posts that aren't to the correct forum. Old threads don't have to be closed, as sometimes new info comes up that is relevent. But that depends on the thread of course.

ahhhh, no more casino. i didn't even notice. maybe Micah could replace the pips by the rank images of x-com, no? (to correspond with each "rank status". i know it's possible).

still, why the pi... magenta name? why not purple, red, something else?!?

also (while i'm at it), why does the forum give me a 404 error every 10 seconds? i'm getting sick of having to press F5 every ten seconds. *presses F5*

red is preserved for the global moderators :happybanana: . But you'd probably better ask Stewart/Micah... Maybe he thought that flashy magenta would be easy to notice

I am fourtnate that very few topics require moderation in the forums inside of which I reside.

If you take on xcom1 & 2 tech support, you'll no longer have an easy life though, those fora are very active and will require your constant effort
Let's see you do some moderating for a change, as we haven't seen a lot of you yet :wink: (you're lucky Stewart 'forgot' to add your name to the list here, or we'd see just how much you've moderated )

I can moderate something too if it helps. I think I'd be a great judge to deside which posts should be deleted/edited. I won't push myself in that job by force so if you NEED, I could help.

Just joking, but seriously, I visit here many times/day, so obscene, improper or political posts won't live long..
I have nothing specific in mind but if someone has too much to moderate and can't handle it or if some forum is still unmoderated :o , I can take it.

I'm currently moderating the CTD forums by default, would prefer to keep it going that way if you don't mind. Too many cooks in the kitchen sometimes makes for a messy meal. If my free time dries up at work I'll happily accept some help, I'll keep you updated.
