While browsing through Google, I found this Great site for all things related to politics and economy, a real, complete factbook... It even got a "Corruption ranking"!! :happybanana:

:master: http://www.nationmaster.com/

:naughty: Anyway, I thought it might be cool to share this with you guys ^_^

(edit) I found this chart of the Gross National Products very informative:

Well, for starters, Sri Lanka seems to have 19,742,439 people (2003 est.), but several hundred thousands Tamils have fled over the years because of the two decades of the separatist movement... Anyway, it's a heck of a lot of people...

Exports - commodities: textiles and apparel, tea, diamonds, coconut products, petroleum products.

Sri Lanka's most dynamic sectors now are food processing, textiles and apparel, food and beverages, telecommunications, and insurance and banking. By 1996 plantation crops made up only 20% of exports (compared with 93% in 1970), while textiles and garments accounted for 63%...2001 saw the first contraction in the country's history, -1.4%, due to a combination of power shortages, severe budgetary problems, the global slowdown, and continuing civil strife. Growth recovered to 3.2% in 2002. About 800,000 Sri Lankans work abroad, 90% in the Middle East. They send home about $1 billion a year.

GDP: $73.7 billion (2002 est.) [59th of 229]
(per capita): $3733.07 per person [135th of 236]
(so, about ten times less GDP per capita than the US, there's just so many people crammed down there...)

Besides, from wich country are you from?
I'm in Eastern Canada :D

Didn't know we were planning to have THIS depth of realism into the game that we are discussing porcentages. Anyway, knock yourselves out.

Well, a bit more realism does'nt hurt, as long as it does not break the mood or the gameplay... ^_^
what's wrong in educating our US neighbors that 96% of the Earth's population is NOT american :D

I thought you'd agree :D
I actually have american co-workers, but sometimes it's hard to see we're on the same continent... They have such sub-standard information and news sources, and they don't even know about it... *sigh*
