Fomka
In shortUFO2000 needs a native English speaker to verify all game messages in English language, since there are some mistakes in them. Volunteer here, if you are native English speaker and are willing to spend time on verifying the messages. In detailAbout a week ago Serge registered UFO2000 on Transifex.net collaborative translation tool. There are now 10 languages in addition to original English. People started translating from the original language, but alas! The original is not perfect and translated versions will not be perfect either. To proceed with internationalization the original must be corrected at the first place. I have reported the obvious mistakes in the bugtracker already. To correct mistakes one needs to dig the source code for message texts, correct them, build a new version of the game, test it and send the source code fixes to the bugtracker as patches. The patches will be reviewed and applied, if all is good. Digging the source code is not an interesting thing to do for a translator, even if there is no other way to correct the original language (which is the case). Therefore I suggest to use Transifex.net tool for verifying all messages and to post the result here, then I will bother with programmer stuff to implement corrections. Using Transifex.net for verifying English messagesTransifex.net offers the possibility to view all game texts online via the following link: https://www.transifex.net/projects/p/ufo200...-svn/l/en/view/Let's see an example. You've launched the game in hotseat mode, changed gametype from "Deathmatch" to "Search and destroy" and noticed a typo in gametype description: "ennemy" instead of "enemy". Go to the above mentioned Transifex page, enter "ennemy" into the 2nd search field and see the text string that needs correction: "Find and kill the ennemy. All units will face ". Post here:There is a typo!"Find and kill the ennemy. All units will face " must be "Find and kill the enemy. All units will face " Ask questions, give suggestions – feedback is welcome!
