basagulero3d
hey fellow xcom fans =) yeah, i just downloaded the xcomutil, becoz i like the improved bases for my copy of xcom ufo ce version =), which i have gotten to wok on xp =) yeah, it runs smoothly enough without the xcom util, u know like you can see the fps on the shadows on geoscape running smoothly along the planet. and the seconds actually go up fast enough. when i run the xcom util, the geoscape lags out, so when i click on the 5 secs button, it goes up in increments of 5 seconds, so it skips all the frames in between, so it basically goes from 5 then to 10 secs, missing the bits in between, and it takes ages for your spaccraft to reach their destination, without xcom util, on 5 sec speed, it runs smoothly??? why???? so, what i did was replace, and change the loaders on the xcom util with the newer xcom95 fix, it fixed it, buit i also used the patch.dll file for it, BUT when i go to do a mission it drops me back to the windows screen and xcom quits completely :o
Robo Dojo 58
No frames are getting skipped at all. "5 secs" is supposed to go 5 seconds in the game for every second of real time. It's basically a pause button on the geoscape. That's how X-COM was intended to run. All you have to do, is use the bigger time increment buttons. Not sure about the quitting problem, though. Puasonen
Not sure about the quitting problem, though.
The quitting problem he caused himself by changing the loader file after installing xcomutil. What I suggest is either play with or without xcomutil. I have always played without xcomutil and have enjoyed my games so I don't see the problem here
basagulero3d
oh ok, thanks... yeah, it looks like ill be playing without xcom util then, i like it when the timer runs smooth without the missing frames =), it makes it easier to follow ufo paths

You may be seeing a problem with f0dder's loader. Can you run without his loader? The mission abort is something I can try to look at. Can you give me more details? basagulero3d
yeah, ill try. i installed xcom ce, first then, i already had fodders fix in there, its called "ldr_XCOM1" i got it from his website. it works fine, gives me smooth shadows rolling over the planet in geoscape. with xcom util, it prompts me to use fodders fix, i say yes, and it deletes the new patch.dll from fodders new dll fix, and replaces it with patch1.dll and patch2.dll or something like that, but the important thing i guess is that it removes the new patch.dll that i use which makes xcom works for me. when xcomutil is isntalled over the top of fodders new fix. the video is a bit jerky, its not as smooth, the time is slowed down heaps and the shadows on the geoscape isnt fluid, if i set it to 5 sec increment time, it goes 5 - 10 - 15 secs, missing out the numbers in between and the frames i guess. and when i go to a tactical mission, it drops me to windows screen with xcom terminating. the end
stjones
Yesterday, I downloaded f0dder's latest loader and verified that it is newer than the one in XcomUtil 9.5. At the moment, I am spending all of my time working on a new feature for version 9.6. I'll add the new loader to the package when I start my testing, probably this weekend. The abort could be the result of a change in his API. I'll send you a private copy to test before I attempt to release 9.

Delance
Oh, this is great. I’m play the TFTD Gold Version (with the loadfix for XP), and I’ve ran into this infamous research bug. There’s absolutely no way I can research either Alien Sub Construction or the Manta. Which means there’s no way to finish the game (at least with a victory!). I do have Transmission Resolver, IBA, Magnetic Navication, Ion Armor and Mag. Ion Armor for quite some time now. In fact, I’m running out of things to research. I ran this executable, and it did detect the problem, reported it fixed, but when I play the game the problem is still there. I went into an alien base, landed and took off, but there’s still no new research option. Is there something I can do?
