Guest Nox
I have the Gold Edition, and after I've chosen difficulty the game crashes. I don't even come to the base placement. Any ideas what to do?
j'ordos
Are you SURE you have the gold edition? Does your xcom folder contain GO.bat, FULL.bat, ... If so, you have the dos version.
Guest Nox
I'm 300% sure about that. The only files that are in my UFO folder is UFO Defense.exe and xcom1fix.exe also musfix.dll. Then of course there are some other folders too
j'ordos
What OS are you using? Are you playing on an LCD screen? Have you tried turning off directdraw?
Guest Nox
I'm using Win 2k. No I haven't tried that. But how do you do that? I couldn't find any options in the screen properties. Just open GL and so on.
j'ordos
start->run->dxdiag.exe->display->directX functions. Edited August 18, 2003 by j'ordos
Guest Nox
It still dosen't work. Do I have bad drivers for my grahpics card? Because the just continues dying. Maybe a corrupt version of the game?I have the old dos version on a disc, but the gold edition I downloaded from the net, for they don't sell it anywhere around here. j'ordos
What GFX card do you have? If you would register we could discuss certain options that would lead you to *cough* 'acquire' another version of xcom ce, one that certainly works (for me, that is )
Guest Nox
Geforce 2 MX...*ashamed*Â Haha That sounds very promising. 1 sec
j'ordos
Do you have the garbled gfx bug when running xcom without fix? I don't know what applies as 'old', but the geforce 2 isn't exactly 'new' . Try running it with directdraw enabled and without fodder's fix.
