Ra1der
Heyyyy, I am newbie here so if I am posting this problem to a wrong board, then please excuse me. I've been playing the UFO game for few days and I think I got addicted. My friend is always playing UFO 2000 at our psychology class, so I've decided I want to try it, I've installed the UFO 2000, also I've located my X-COM game (UFO [ older one]), when I try to play the game, only black screen appears but the sound works. Can anyone help Thanks in advance.
Jezulkim
sound worksSo you hear the "opening sound"? yes?Black screen, that could be wrong resolution settings in the ufo2000.ini. Edit it to use 640x480 resolution. And one more thing, do you see the file loading screen or does the black screen appear immediately after starting ufo2000? Ra1der
Only the black screen appears. Here are the steps: I click on my UFO2000 icon, then black screen appears, and after few seconds I can hear the sound, but no menu or loading screen. I've changed the resolution to 640*480, 800*600 and 1024*768 but nothing helped. I've also tried reinstalling the game, but end up with the same results. Voller
Hmm random question: how old is your computer, or rather your graphics card? This reminds me of something similar I had quite a while back. I had two seperate graphics cards, one normal card and one 3daccelerator (voodoo1 ). There was a cable going from one card to the other and another one from one of the cards to the monitor. The signal had to go through both cards before it came to the screen. For some applications, however, the screen stayed black, although the application was obviously running. To solve this I had to change the cables so that the signal went directly to the monitor rather than through the second card. Hope this made sense Voller
Ra1der
well my computer is capable of handling this kind of game, if I can play HL2 on it, then this game should run too. :\
