That is a fairly exhaustive list of all scoring considerations. You should note that there are exploits that can aid against some of the real point-takers, such as ignoring a terror site. If you land and then immediately take-off from a Terror Site, you generally lose between 270 and 400 points instead of 1000 because the game only counts the 'Civilians Killed by Aliens' in that case.
In general, score affects your overall funding. The higher your score, the better. Do note, however, that if you score is below -900(Beginner), -800(Experienced), -700(Veteran), -600(Genius), or -500(Superhuman) for two months in a row you automatically lose the game. (Not to mention your funds will have really sunk by then).
Speaking of which, could someone confirm whether or not the project is cancelled if all the funding nations withdraw from the project?

i can confirm it. if all countries widthraw from the project, it's obvious that the project has been cancelled (no matter how much we can live without their funding)Speaking of which, could someone confirm whether or not the project is cancelled if all the funding nations withdraw from the project?

edit: btw, in the research projects list, you're missing the Blaster Bomb (ammo for Blaster Launcher).

It might meet the requirements of common sense that the project is cancelled if all funding nations withdraw. However, computers are hardly known for common sense.

Such a heavy burden now to be the 'one'.
Born to bear and bring to all the details of our ending,
To write it down for all the world to see.
But I forgot my pen!

Excelent job on those numbers!!
Where did you get them anyway?

Are you sure, though? As in, have you tested it in the game?

but killing is more fun. it makes them scream!Seems this dispells the myth that killing aliens is better for your score than capturing.

It seems the game has a tendency to not be able to decide what the score deduction for losing HWPs should be. On occasion I have seen it double the penalty and I have also seen it deduct nothing for losing 3 HWPs in one mission. It is probably a glitch.
