mikker
This went so lightningly fast. I placed the base outside europe, and imidietly, a UFO came up. I send in the triton and delt with it quickly. Then not long after, a terror site came up, and i arrived sunday the same week. This was a nightmare. Í had forgotten to buy ammonition, and i didn't have enough ammo to defeat the aliens :: it was a gillman fight with Deep Ones. I though, "heheh, i'm gonna get MC early!" and i even managed to get one down alive. But i had to take care of the rest of the aliens, and in the proccess they killed all of my men exept one. I've killed all of THEM without one stupid sonic-cannon gillman hiding in a big building. And i didn't have any ammo left to take him out, so i took my man still alive, and went for the deepone corpse. I stuck it in the backpack..... ....and it woke up and killed my last man. Lost triton, i didn't want to continue the game by obvius reasons. . I'm sucky or WHAT? EDIT: know i think of it...i didn't make a alien containment. So even if i've gotten my man back to base... .... Edited March 22, 2004 by mikker
SupSuper
actually the fastest way of losing a beginner game is when you have the lousy luck of getting a base attack on the first week of the game which wipes out everyone. and it happens more and more often

Paladin
happened on me once. I was doing perfect on beginner, adn then i get attacked and whipped out. I never managed to get my base attacked in TFTD, it gripes me to let such a big USO come at me, and then my base defenses cut him to shreds... *sigh*I've never even seen how the interior of our bases looks like in TFTD Besides, I got bored on the second level of T'leth the first time, I did'nt know there was a third level I might get back to it as soon as I finish XCOM1 on Superhuman... Paladin
the ufopedia in tftd shows the interior of base facilities Right, but their're not full screen, and I'd like to see the WATER in the hangars... does it move? I might try TFTD on a higher difficulty... Am I suicidal or what?

Chris StarShade
That happened to me on beginner with one exception: I repulsed the attack. It was sectoids and calcinites. I even managed to get some live ones, so I got vibroblades early. I believe that may have been the time when I remembered why I hate Aqua Jet Coelacanths... heh

Its preferable sometimes, because instead of killing one lousy alien, you kill tens. That's how I get my calcinite corpse on 6 january (with a bit of luck)
