I understand that in the initial part of the game the alien are "naked" however as we advance in tech shouldn't the bring out some of their tech also. After all they have better tech than us.

With this in mind why don't grays, mutons, etc... have armor as soon as we start bringing out heavier weapons they bring out their armour tech. something like bio-mechanical armour, this is not only for protection but also as an extension of their abilities improve whatever...

also this will have special characteristics such as very effective against projectile not so effective againt beam tech or since they are enclosed suit they do not receive that much smoke damage, something like an enviro-suit.
