Another Suggestions

First i want to thank you for a wonderful game. Its frustrating that I cant help you (when I am not really English speaking (cant do faqs or help-sections) and don’t know how to program stuff (not even homsites!)

So what can I do except of playing? :) Make suggestions of course! So here comes a wonderful list ;)


“Playstyle”
Ability to play a game even if you dont have someone connected to you, playing with a friend on the same computer would be nice. Playing 2on2 would be great.

“Army”
List or database of your soldier and groups. Ability to copy soldiers then you don’t want to do the same thing to all your soldiers. Also some kind of description to the soliders should be nice then at least I got problem to remember what the soldiers are good at (name them “grenader joe and powersuit_nanny_with_80TU”, I think you know what I mean. :)

The “chat room”
A topic with the resent version of the game should also be nice. Private messages to and chats with players would be cool.

“Pre-battlescape”
Almost unlimited amount of soldiers in the group (the equip points does the limit).

“Fires”
Make the fire live a little bit longer and make it grow… Cool playing around a town total in fire. Also makes the incendiary ammos a little bit more useful.


Equipment change!
Yes, I know you don’t want that but I write anyway! :)

Flying suit
Lets say that the suit is equipped with “ninja-rope” that makes the soldier able to climb on walls and up levels. So basicly you are only abel to “fly” then near a wall. Good then you want to go up for something but the stair is destroyed…

Heavy cannon
Make it be like a small launcher and a sniperrifle in the same time. The ammo doesn’t give “trails” and no sound.

Auto cannon
Think its boring with only 3 shot in auto shot, this is an minigun! Make it use 6 shot every auto shot.

Smoke grenade
Make the smoke last longer or make it fade a way smooth every turn (make the circle smaller and smaller).

Proximity grenade
Make it invisible (for both teams).

High explosive
Make it Proximity and invisible

Heavy laser
Would be cool if it shoot “beams” and hitting everything in the way (ability to shot through buildings and stuff.

Blaster Launcher
For every “checkpoint” let increase the risk of misfire by 9% which means if you use all the points it got 90% of exploding in your face. It would make it powerful but risky.

Electroflare
Gives you an extra eye. Throw it somewhere and you can see the surrounding just as it was an solider.

Motionscanner
Scans the envirmoment for proximity grenades and maybe even disable them (or make the user immune to them).

Mind probe
Stealth probe, it acts like you were surrounded by smoke all the time. (mind probe + flying suit + heavy cannon = the true ultimate ninja! :) )

Mind controller
Cause the enemy to panic/ go berserk



About the races
I think some thinking outside the box would make them quite cool and playable.

Sectoids: Harder to see (they are small) got lesser misfire with blaster launcher, lesser TU% using mind probe, mind controller

Mutants
The range 30-100 instead of 50-80

[right][post="98551"]<{POST_SNAPBACK}>[/post][/right][/quote]if by "playing with a friend on the same computer" you mean a hotseat game (multiple players on 1 computer) that's already possible. just use the Start Hotseat Game button, then the first player sets up his stuff (only first player can change game settings) and presses Send and Start. Now it's the second player's turn to set up his stuff, press Send and Start and the game begins.

As SupSuper said, there's a "Start Hotseat" button. Not sure about 2v2 though.

You could do this manually in Word or Excel and make multiple "team_ru.dat" files and rename them.

You can already chat, but the idea of PMs is a good idea. Also a Topic saying "Current Beta is x.x.x.x, please download ASAP" or something would be handy.

This is a good idea. I like. Max points limit is 25000, so people could go "CANNON FODDERRRRR!" with loads of troops or go for elites.

Also the ability to "purchase" extra points to spend on troops with the equip points would be good.

Realistic, yes. This would be PERFECT for Town/City. Fire an IN rocket at a building and a few turns later it's a towering inferno.

Interesting idea. I believe climbing was planned in X-COM Apocalypse, but never made it to final. That would have been awesome.

No. Just no. Heavy Cannon = Rifle on Steroids. Also, small launchers are stunguns.

Yeah. Definitely more shots with auto shot. Otherwise it's a Rifle on weaker steroids.

Definitely not. This would ruin my favourite custom game mode, Demolition! (The idea of Demolition is to lay as many explosives as possible to blow up as much of the map as possible.)

It DOES shoot beams. I don't think "piercing" would be easy to implement though.

Riiiiiiiight. And remember there was no such thing as misfire in X-COM, unless you were stupid enough to hold a primed grenade too long.

They're flares not microcams. This will probably be a bugger to code too.

It's for detecting troop movements. Or movements of any kind. I don't see how it would let you "see" proxies.

If you'd played X-COM you'd know that they probe the stats of your enemies. A better use perhaps would be to look at the target's inventory.

Mmmm Psi-Amp. Yay Berserk. Optional choices; 1) Drop all guns, 2) Take grenade, prime, stick in shirt pocket. 3) Shoot teammates, 4) Shoot anything that moves (including thrown grenades... *BOOM!*)

How about a laser weapon which causes anything it hits to set ablaze and if the fire is not taken care of it will spread like you said and could pose quite a significant threat to anything nearby also if they could make buildings collapse when there is no support to the building that would be awesome!(for instance you throw an incendiary grenade in the bottom floor of the building and there is an enemy in the top floor the bottom floor would burn away and the floors above it would have no support and thus clolapse)They should also add damage for when a unit jumps down from a certain height he would suffer falling damage and since it would be his only way out without having the building collapse and being crushed under the rubble hed have no choice.Another addition to the falling damage could be that the wieght of the equipment they are carrying defines the amount of falling damage they suffer so they would also need to lose some equipment in order to survive.The height from which they jump should also effect the damage.I'd love to see this feature in UFO 2000 Edited by Crusader

Well I believe this guy means that ingame when you are setting up your troops you can import\export from\to an external file.  Another idea on this would be to add the ability to import\export specific troop guys from\to the files instead of the whole team.

I think this is a great idea! It should be renderd transparent from 0-100% dependant on who can see it and how good there "perception" skill is.

What would be nice though, would be more ammo types for the small launcher. Heck, make it able to fire grenades (all types, including flares) horizontally better.

That's at least what I can imagine the small launcher capable of doing.

I mean, the stun bomb is a bomb, and the launcher is like an air-lobber to launch such a bomb (considering no trails and such, it must be launched by air pressure or hydraulic spring or something.). Heck, you can even make the stun bomb able to be primed and used as a stun grenade while you're at it. Edited by Prowler2885
