Modding Interceptor Weapons

Is there an easy way to change the damage and range of interceptor weapons?

 

I want to change...

...the Laser to : Damage 50 Range 52km

...the Plasmacannon to : Damage 140 ( as before ) Range to 30km

 

My thought was that the Lasercannons are almost worthless. I shot ufos with two Plasma cannons equal if it is a battleship or a small craft.

Now when the laser has a larger range, less damage than a missile, it could be a great sniper weapon against small-large ufos. And the plasma weapon will be used against battleship class ufos. Battleship counterfire from a range of 65km, so if your plasmaweapons have a range of 52km or 30km, that should not count so much.

 

So back to my question... is there an editor or something out there with that I can change it without to much problems?

I think you can but I cant remember.  I think Scott Jones editor has some "Canned" setable different craft weapon stats.

I can edit the weapons when I open the cfg file and edit them. Finally the I run the setup and now I can use the weapons in game. But when I shot down an ufo, and it switches to tactical, ufo crashes.

 

Even when not editing a thing ( reinstalled the game ), Ufo crashes when i start Ufo EU per RunXComW.bat or Runxcom.bat and the game moves to the tactical comabt screen.

 

I use ufoeuet 2005 03 28.

Edit:

 

Reinstalled Ufo Eu Ce Version and used UfoUtil and the fodders loader. Now it works, no more crashes...

... if it would not run so fast now ^^ ... always a problem...
