So, i was happily shooting down UFO's. First 10 mins or so into the game. Then some terror ship or whatnot goes and shoots down my interceptors! :sly: No fair! I have to restart.

Later, on a new game, I'm doing really well. Killed a few aliens, zap, bang, intact UFO. I stun a navigator and engineer. ^_^ ONLY TO FIND OUT MY ALIEN CONTAINMENT ISN'T BUILT! :blink: What a bummer.

So Later I'm playing again. I send out my HWP. Suddenly 6 sectoids ambush it and blast it to peices. :wacko: I manage to take the UFO. Turn 30. turn 40. Huh? What alien? I search like heck. :huh: Turn 60. Turn 70. Doors are opening and everything. Turn 90. turn 100. STILL NO SIGN OF HIM. <_< Turn 125. I have men everywhere. Wait, why dont I use.. MY MOTION SCANNER? :cussing:

How many times can I get things wrong in a day? :huh?:

On every difficulty, there are always a few aliens outside the UFO wandering around. The rest are in the UFO. Most of them will come out around turn 20-30, making them easy prey for people with good reactions. (50+)

I usually bring a few laser rifles, to "swiss cheese" any area on the map that might have an alien. Since it has infinite ammo, you can level the map with them.

Also, some aliens are standing on bales of hay, and can't be seen for some reason. Shoot all the bales of hay, just to be sure.

Some aliens hide behind the UFO power sources, as well. You can't see them until you walk there.

Good luck finding that last alien! ^_^

My first order of business: Homeless people make cheap rookies, and are great at opening UFO doors. Heck, they're so cheap, I'm going to replace all personel with them!
Secondly: This organisation takes too much money to run. Weapon shipments will come from Siberia from now on. Costly maintenance is to be cut on all facilities. That includes venting.
Thirdly: We have a new colonel. His name is Facehugger, he loves aliens, and I want you all to treat him with respect.

Another thing, go ROUND the fences. For some reason my guys cannot seem to see through the wooden fences. It is most annoying when this sectiod is taking chunks out of your men, only not to be able to shoot or see him!! :cussing:

I've had a few of those issues before, but I've come to recognize their tactics to a point where I can predict them. I send my squad, usually comprising of 6 to 8 to secure the area around the skyranger and any buildings in it's immediate area. I split the squad usually into two factions and have one seek out the crashed UFO, and the other to secure the area around the UFO. The mission usually ends in under 20 to 30 turns.

I've had worse though resulting in a game error. I was playing my best game to date without any hacks or codes. The first three months I had a score of over 1000, and each time at least ten countries increased their funding. Then, suddenly, the elusive 'corrupted save data' error strikes, and it's all for nothing.
