maybe build a facillity that allows more then one base to work on a single research topic? for instance you make 30 scientists at base X work with 100 scientists at base g it maybe slightly slower then haveing all scientist at one base work on one research item. But this still is better then haveing one base that is maxed out on building space.

Also sorry for the misspelling it was a late night...

It sounds to me like that's already possible. I think it's called "the Internet."

Still, an interesting idea...

Yeah, it was'nt present in the original game, because, well, it was absolutely unknown to the general public back in 1993... Hard to understand for people who've grown up IMing to their friends, but hey, it's like my parents who actually remember the television appearing in homes... I love generational paradox. :D

Besides, ANY researcher today absolutely need the Internet, particularly in engineering and Hi-tech matters, simply because not everyone is an expert on everything...
To be entirely realistic, we'd need all those scientists to be each specialised in engineering, medical, parapsi, mathematics, xenobiologist, etc.
And YES, I agree with UFO: Aftermath's way of handing over the reverse-engineering of the alien weapons to the engineers...
:hammer: It makes much more sense to get the scientists research the overall weapon principle, to be able to design new ones (again a job for the engineers...)
