brom
hi, i have a problem with UFO2000 and starting XCOM: At first, my system config: Windows XP SP2UFO2000, v0.6.627UFO: XCOM CD-Version i installed UFO2000 and include my ufo-directory during the setup-process. The setup finished successfully, but when ih try to start, i get following error-message: The game (without ufo2000) starts normally, in fullscreen and everything looks good (okay, the game is too fast to play ). But with ufo2000, the error appears. I checked the original directory and the ufo200/xcom directory, the same... any suggestions? tia brom Edited November 9, 2005 by brom
Blood Angel
Firstly, XCom is unaffected by UFO2k. Secondly, just try a reinstall.
Serge
From the screenshot it looks like 'scanbord.pck' file differs from what the game expected (seems like we have never seen this version of x-com). You can go to 'init-scripts' directory, open 'filecheck.lua' in a text editor of your choice, remove the line which contains 'scanbord.pck' substring and save the file. The game should stop complaining about this file. Also you can try the latest beta of ufo2000, it can run even without having any data files from x-com Though the choice of maps/unit skins will be very limited if not using resources from x-com.
