  • Anyone trying to connect over the last week has probably noticed the server is closed and whitelisted for testing. Bukkit for Minecraft 1.2.5 required us to radically change our choice of server plugins due to some fundamental changes to the way plugins interact with bukkit. We had to drop about 15 of them and pick up 10 new ones. This has resulted in the need to spend a lot of time configuring and testing the plugins so the server will run smoothly and griefing can be kept under control.
  • We have decided that we would like xcomufo's Minecraft server to be as close to survival as possible. This means that spawning of free items will be severely curtailed. We will no longer provide you with supplies for building your great project or city. It will be your responsibility to harvest, mine, trade for, or buy the materials you want to make what you want.
  • In order to clean the server of all the freely spawned items and money, we have created a new map for 1.2.5. The old map is still online but only accessible by staff members.
  • Additionally, we finally have a functioning permissions system. What this means for many of you is that if you were opped in the past in order to gain access to some server commands, you have now been de-opped and either placed in a specific staff rank or set as a regular Member. We urge you not to be offended by this change because you were all told many months ago that it would happen eventually. Many of you were opped for convenience and we hope you enjoyed your time with those abilities, but as we are starting up a new map and aiming to make the server as survival-oriented as possible, there will only be 4 people with op capabilities and they will no longer be giving away any items, ever.

We hope to have all testing completed this weekend and open the server up Sunday or Monday.

Yeah it was on the xcomufo server for a while until we moved to a rented dedicated server. Since then, we moved to a server I built :) And obviously we didn't end up using the xcomufo forums... we went with www.famcraft.com
