No Buy/sell Button

Hi

 

There is no button for buyig/selling hiring/sucking !

Should this all go into transfer? Are there any GUI designs for this? I want to make temporary dialog for thats, but want to make as much close to final as possible :)

edit: i checked on www.projectxenocide.com and discoverd that there in baseview screens there is Logistics button in place of Statistics. Can somebody clarify it for me?

Quite some time ago we reorderd the meu options to flow better with the purposes of the screens.

another problem...

We have RnD button in baseview,

research and manufacture buttons in geoscope.

 

Why something that have one button in baseview have two in geoscope??

 

eh? RnD means the laboratories only. Not the actual manufacture WTF

So the question remains, although a little bit changed: Why don't we have a "manufacture" button in Baseview?

i thought that RnD stands for research and development ??

It does, and in UFO: Aftermath, at least, in the "Research and Development" screen you got to research and build stuff, not just research :)

I thought the "developent" refers to applied research whereas "research" refers to basic research...

No, developing a prototype of the "Laser Pistol" out of the "Laser Priciples" research is applied research.

Ok, so currently we have in baseview following buttons:

 

- Build new base

- Base information

- New facility

- Equip craft

- R & D

- Transfer

- Statisctics

- Back to planetview

- small buttons at bottom of view for changing bases

- destroy button when one of facilities is selected

 

Now we have to think (or maybe already was this discussed) what tasks can player do from baseview GUI:

 

I think (i have placed ? sign on options wich propably should be done from geoscope):

- add new base ?

- show base info

- equip craft

- equip soldiers

- allocate research ?

- allocate production ?

- hire / sack emplyees

- buy / sell stuff

- build new facility

- destroy/scrapp facility

- go back to planetview :P

- transfer stuff between bases

 

Did i missed something?

That's exactly what i said :) Maybe i didn't made myself clear. I listed functions wich i'm thinking should be avaible from baseview GUI, and add a '?' sign at this functions wich propably could be also/only called from geoscope.

What about allocate Research/production? Are those globally? E.g. do we produce in all bases at the same time? If so, where do the finished products end up? For research it might make sense, but for production?

 

Maybe I missed the meaning of allocate here, though?

I think that making more plans about GUI is critical for xenocide! I don't mean prepared end version of graphics for GUI (which also would be very nice :P ) but a simple flow, which button opens wich screens, etc.

 

Can we assign someone for leading this??

I founded something very interesting, but of corse not excatly i was looking for, so the problem is still open....
