I came up with a great explanation today of how the bases are built and yet kept secret even from the sponsoring countries, but you'll just have to wait. Tee Hee!!!! :zelda:

Ooh, I have a guess!

"Protection" money. 50K a week will insure that nothing... bad... happens to your bases. :devillaugh:
Posted Image Haha! I'm now the Supreme Commander of X-COM. Time to kiss Earth goodbye.

My first order of business: Homeless people make cheap rookies, and are great at opening UFO doors. Heck, they're so cheap, I'm going to replace all personel with them!
Secondly: This organisation takes too much money to run. Weapon shipments will come from Siberia from now on. Costly maintenance is to be cut on all facilities. That includes venting.
Thirdly: We have a new colonel. His name is Facehugger, he loves aliens, and I want you all to treat him with respect.
Lastly: I'll be in my condo on an undisclosed island, if you need me. Good day.

I almost finished my short x-com story... then school started back up. I dont have much time but it should be done soon.

Heres an idea I was playing with...

Since an X-Com TV series isnt be possible, a written x-com series may be. This would be a weekly- bi weekly (depends on time) story about x-com following the game theme and plot.

Would there be any support (ie: readers) for such a thing?

There WAS an old British TV series /like/ Xcom years ago called IIRC "UFO". Use UFO and SHADO as keywords in a search. I used to watch it as a kid. All I remember is the theme song, thiose stupid interceptors on the moon with /ONE/ shot and that in the second season the UFOs could go underwater. Oh and the show took place in the not-to-distant future, 1980! :D
