Xenocide Download ?

Recommended Posts

When i checked out the site of Xenocide it seems that the downloads are not working.

Wasn't there already a possibility to try out the stuff they developed?

If yes --> Where can i download it because the links i find on the Xenocide site and on sourceforge are not working for me.

Thanks.

Yes I found a way to install bittorent and to download Xenocide but now i have another problem.

I installed Xenocide and when i try to start it gives me an error as shown in my attachment.

Others got this problem or is it related to my configuration?

I use windows XP Home

Free FTP servers usually are neither reliable, nor fast. In addition, there is no 100% guarantee that your files won't be deleted.

The Torrent technology makes sure that the file will always be there, unless all users close their p2p programs. In addition, more people connected means much faster downloads, something you can't find in direct downloads. Last but not least, distributed downloads, such as torrents, means less cost for all.

There are many programs you can use! Azureus and BitComet are both easy and open-source (thus free).

Yes, it may be a bit difficult when you first see it, but it's not impossible to work with torrents. Actually, it's quite easy. Are you sure you have even tried?

Yes, I tried a few times and almost threw my computer's tower out the window my girlfriend convinced me not to. But anyway I will try again if I have to... Because I've seen the screenshots and I'm really excited about this.

...Have you even seen the internet?

I myself rather like FTP severs too, but you have to admit. .Tor is much better.

As for your problems. There are about 1,000,000 different bad torrent downloaders. Finding one you like is the only hard part.

I myself like Bit Comet.

Edit: Sorry Bit Comet went to pay to use... WT*...... anyway... don't use it.... Unless you are insane.... or can't think of anything else to spend your money on...

Oh.. and a lot of torrents downloaders bring all sorts of spywear on your computer, hench why I like FTP severs better. But as long as you have something like Windows Defender (Free!) and Windows Live OneCare (Still free... but not for long...) you'll be fine...

And really my anti-torrent stance doesn't hold water as FTPs can have spywear and viruses too... I guess I'm just old fashioned...

But get used to .Tor, its free and easy to sever up. And frankly just better... I'm pretty sure FTPs will get rarer and rarer as time goes on...

Ah thanks.  Good ole bit comet...

And actually... torrents are a form of P2P.....

But... they are different than p2p programs like Shareaza, Emule, etc since you can't actually do searches with them, you have to use external torrent trackers to find what you're looking for, plus, I often found these programs to be better than torrents, as for certain files it's difficult to find them in torrents unless you really know where you're looking for, and even so, it's hard. But for large, popular, things like, say, the game Black & White 2, it's a lot better to use torrents.
