Just wondering wether the air craft or maybe a tank could have flares.
Just an idea.

Flares?

Hmmm. Let's take it in a similar but slightly different direction.
You can always have high powered search light (or lights) fixed to the ship that you can use to scan a wide radius around the landing zone. You could even go so far as introduce them as tank modification module that fixes a row of searchlights on the turrets of tanks (or use the tank's headlights) or even mount them on some varieties of the power suits.
And how about some guns coming with built in lights? Not all the guns - we've got to keep some of them unique enough for players to go back to later.
One thing I'd really like to see is using lights (flares, torches, etc) as a very minor form of offence by temporarily blinding anyone in front of them if the change in light is sudden (0 to 100%) rather than gradual (or a slow increase from 0 - 100%). This could save some coding and be reused for implementing the flash bombs, which essentially introduce an extreme but brief change in lighting to temporarily stun opponents.

Those flashbang things would be a nice alternative or suppliment for the smoke grenades or even the standard flare. With the last, I wonder if there is anything left for the flashbang to burn (like a flare) after it had done is initial blinding thing.
If not, its just as well. There should be some one-use type items so we'd have to manage weight restrictions.

flashbangs are just concussive grenades that make an extremely bright light and a super-loud explosion, capable of blinding and deafening(stunning) an opponent for 5-20 seconds(20 only if they are wimpy losers)

It is an explosion, an area of high pressure equalizing with the low pressure, and it travels at very high speeds, causing a loud noise. The light is a by-product of the explosion
