Exo2000
So far, so good. 2 missions out of a possible 4 (3 Crashes and a Terror) and the first paycheck update. Russia like me. America are pee'd off because of the raid (duhhh) and Canadia too. I have an epic story.. well, not really, but it was fairly heroic; Jungle Mission - Mission 2 of 2 - Daylight - "Cross-Class" UFO, Random Shape Within the first five turns and such, my crew (3 Personal Armour, 7 Non-Personal Armour) have gunned down a total of 5 aliens. All Sectoids. With Plasma Rifles. No losses, so far. We enter the UFO many a turn later, to find aliens hiding. We gun down the one opposite the airlock (yes, this UFO had an airlock ) and step out. A rookie runs out and is subsequently toasted by a Sectoid with a plasma rifle. Sgt. Siegfried takes out a grenade, then, next turn, pops around the corner, arms it at 0 and hurls it at the aliens (3 of the buggers). -PERFECT- positioning. He then falls to 3 plasma blasts. End of turn and the grenade explodes, leaving my men picking little alien bits off of the walls. Messy. He was a valiant soldier! It was a shame to lose him.. but hey, one of my other troops turned Sergeant and 3 others Squaddies. I have the full UFOpedia "hack", but I'm not building anything except Alien Alloys and Personal Armour at the moment. When I get the room, I will, no doubt, build a Hovertank/Plasma to help in my engagements, using Captured Alien Weapons for now. Any of you who wish to take on the role of one of my heroic soldiers, post your name here! Standard Issue Gear is a Rifle, Grenade, Personal Armour and Officers get a Plasma Pistol as backup. For now, Plasma Rifles are hot stuff and rare - so I'm saving them for later. Note; I have used X-COM Util to use improved starting base, improved weapons and improved tanks. Mind Control is eliminated and all UFO floorplans -should- be random each battle. All battles are daylight, also. Exo2000
Some punky sectoids invade. And my army kicks them silly. No, really. One of my men had a Plasma Rifle. Plasma Rifle + Aimed Shot = Messy! There were at least 5 or 6 Sectoid Corpses in one square. [NKF]
Just you wait till your accuracy gets good enough. You'll throw away aimed shots and switch almost completely over to snap shots (I'm referring to the plasma rifles). Then it'll be even messier. You'll get three hits a turn as opposed to one. Go up even higher and you can do the same thing with heavy plasmas. - NKF
Exo2000
I doubt anyone's gonna last that long except my Captain --; EDIT: So far so good. Heavy Plasmas are standard issue, for some reason, mine have Autofire. Edited March 17, 2005 by Exo2000
