You can use the inventory trick to arm your chryssalid with something, though their accuracy start renders them somewhat less than useful in mid to long ranged combat. - NKF Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Zombie Posted March 28, 2009 Report Share Posted March 28, 2009 Not only that, but any weapon you do manage to arm it with will play second-fiddle to the built-in melee attack. The only time a Chryssalid will use a ranged weapon is for reaction fire during your round. Like NKF mentioned, the Chryssalid was never meant to carry ranged weapons so its Firing Accuracy is 0%. This just means that any reaction firing it does will not be very accurate except at very close range. But who would want to get that close to a Chryssalid anyway? After my soldier got zombified and i had only one soldier left i pressed next soldier and it took me to zombie with 0 TUs. The next round after zombie walks around a bit, i cycle again, click somewhere and zombie does obey!! The next turn the zombie gets killed by reaction fire(and it is shown as enemy) and i can cycle to the newly hatched chryssalid. I AM CHEATER! I tried to do it again, the soldier that was in skyranger was zombified this time and i couldn`t cycle. But when the soldier that the aliens shared control with me, was zombified the bug was replicated. Screenshots are gonna tell you nothing, because you`d explain it by soldier holding a psi-amp in hand, so i`d upload the save. It`s from:Collector Edition, max`s loader 1.4 What do you need to do? 2 times autoshot the zombie so the chryssalid is killed as well, then try leaving to the left. Or, at least make sure the soldier that is not in skyranger gets zombified. Then, soldier is zombified and you are in your turn, hit next soldier button. Since i do not know, what files are actually required, i uploaded the whole folder in an archive. Anyone wanting a game with last phase(buildling hangar for Avenger, sectoid commander in containment, psi squad filtering)is permitted to use it. After some experience of shared control, i found out that you are not blocked to access Zombie`s inventory(no need for exploit!) althrough when you mindcontrol you can`t access it. BTW i do not even know about the exploit.Some turns after that, a bunch of aliens gathered near Skyranger. Shared control zombie got killed by reaction firing snakeman when i tried to get him to pick that laser rifle. But i got a shared control chryssalid, and aliens nicely left me enough TUs to pick another dead snakeman`s plasma cannon and get chryssalid to kill, kill, kill without fear of reaction fire.Killing aliens with shared control zombie/chryssalid seems to behave like killing friendlies, after just 2 kills i started to receive pretty suspicious messages of chryssalids or even snakeman leader panicking. It gives bonus to YOUR kills when you do it. And it doesn`t lower morale of your own soldiers. If you are lazy, then simplified explanation:- In save i had 2 soldiers left.- It was a snakeman terror mission- The soldier that wasn`t in Skyranger got zombified.- I clicked next soldier and it took me to my zombie.- The next turn that zombie moved. Clicking next soldier again i could move the zombie, but only using the TUs aliens left to me.- It is sorta like using a bug to get your soldiers from death. Except that aliens count the zombie friendly and you do not get soldier back.- The "friendly" zombie got shot by a snakeman when i tried to move zombie and became a shared control chryssalid.- You do not need the alien inventory exploit to access his inventory.- The kills made by shared control zombie/chryssalid are adding score to you. It does a huge blow on enemy`s morale - like if it was your soldier kill another soldier.- The save attached can help your replicate the bug. All you need is to get soldier not in skyranger to be zombified and press next soldier.- The bug was discovered in Collector`s Edition 1.4 and executable was made by max.GAME_1.rar Edited March 30, 2009 by nonam Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

nonam Posted April 3, 2009 Author Report Share Posted April 3, 2009 I am absolutely sure this has to do something with when you click this button if it`s your last soldier it sometimes takes you to the dead body. As well as once my game crashed when trying to visit an UFO with a error "Too many mapcodes loaded!
