Exo's Xcufo Peeps In Apoc

Very bad news.

SOMEBODY decided to break open a box of high explosive AC rounds. Whilst in a police station.

Suffice to say, also, it appears the aliens took the liberty of using a boomeroid beneath my soldier's feet. Boom.

Blehm and his teammate didn't survive the fall. Tsereve took critical wounds before falling, collapsed unconcious, then bled to death.

RIP Tsereve, Blehm & some hapless NPC. :(

Well, technically, you were your own medics.

Also, where you were standing previously was a big crater. So you kinda fell down a level. I don't use many Marsec flying suits.

You skimped out on the extra. . .I forgot how much, but that extra little bit of money? Am I not worthy of it?? Or did the positive effects of Blehm dying negate the negative effects of my demise? :P

Tsereve, marsec armor would have just meant that you would have been killed instantly instead of dying while you were sleeping

No, if he had Marsec armour, he wouldn't have fallen. ;)

His fall caused stun damage, which, when added to that taken from the smoke, knocked him out. Edited by Exo2000

What i mean is that Marsec armor isn't good for protection, so tsereve would've been killed instantly instead of dying in his sleep - so he would'nt fall but he would just die from being shot so he would fall anyway
Me, i survived the explosion and was killed on impact, unlike tsereve who went to sleep before dying - so i win :)

Hmmm, the worst i've had is a popper coming up, blowing up in a police station, killing two men instantly and dropping 4 of them three floors, they pull out medkits to "heal" and then another popper comes in and kills them, then another boomeroid comes and severely injures more men
that was a terrible mission

No, government apartments or something are the worst, since the aliens will come up right under you, and you can't shoot the poppers in time, and they also have big open spaces for the cloaked skeletoids to hang out in

The Senate Building is horrible. The good cover is too close the doorways where Poppers can come out of.

I also hate those buildings which contain unfinished Hovercars and the such, the basements on them. . .ick.

Not to mention the Temple of the Apocalypse-type buildings.

But slums now. . .those are great! (In case you haven't noticed, I like nice, open firefights)

No, it wasn't government apartments, i don't remember what building, i just remember it has basements that run into the center open space of an area... they are the best areas for poppers
If you like fires then procreation parks are the best, i started a few fires with an autocannon and soon enough had the roof falling down

Slums are the best. Especially if you are free to destroy their buildings as well.

I don't like any other map. Police stations are too cramped, senate building is just corridors and corners (great thinking there government, I am sure the architect included sketches of poppers around those corners as well), the sewers are simply bad (a whole flat map, BUT IT'S ALL WATER, and there are single spaced walkways hanging above -poppers yet again), apartments are almost identical to the senate building, warehouses and factories have 9 levels and are just too big (there are doors/elevators everywhere, so it is impossible to actually do a sweep of the place, you can always have something sneak up on you).

I don't do missions in the city if I can. Shoot those UFOs down before they unload. The city is just boring (raid the Cult or some gangs, aliens in the city are such a drag).

I always have so many injured soldiers i can't afford to go onto raids because if i do i won't have enough to fight aliens
minimum of six soldiers, and unless i have a day with no alien incursions, i usually have around 11 unwounded at the beginning and 4 or 5 at the end

Police stations are the worst - all kinds of corners and doors means you're in a deathtrap.

Factories suck slightly less - catwalks and level changes everywhere, and all kinds of stuff that might blow up or fall on you.

The Senate is relatively good. You can either set up firing lines to the right and left of the entrance stairs and wait for the aliens to come down, or set up your line at the bottom of the stairs. Once things slow down, you move the line through the doors and spread out along the wall of the big room.

Once you have disruptors, the cult isn't bad, because you can just blow away all the walls, curtains and doors without worrying about property damage.

Slums are the best - you start outside, and it's not hard to stake out all the entrances.

I would say that evonet sewage works really suck, since you have severely restricted movement in the pipes, and lots of stuff that is held up in the air
