Some Research

I don't believe much of what I am about to produce as evidence, but since this game was made with the kind of dodgy hysteria that only seams to come from the south of the US, I think this 'Fact' document could come in useful to help tie up the loose ends. I have pasted the interesting bits here 4 ya:

UFO occupants have also been with us throughout history. Sightings of small pale or gray beings and other types of creatures have been reported in conjunction with sightings. It’s possible that worldwide stories of small beings like leprechauns, trolls, faeries and others with great powers may have their origin in the UFO phenomenon. Some Native American groups, for example, trace their ancestry to the skies and claim they were brought here by small beings with great powers.

Two weeks later the U.S. Government released a press release saying that a ‘flying disc’ had crashed and been retrieved near Roswell, NM. They later changed their story saying it was merely a weather balloon. But stories of other crashes and close encounters persisted.

But in July of 1947, the U.S. Army Air Force released a statement saying that a ‘flying disc’ had been recovered from a crash site near the town of Roswell, NM. The government later changed their story saying that what had crashed was an experimental radar balloon.

Major Jesse Marcel, an officer and scientist working out of the Roswell Army Air Force Base, was put in charge of the investigation. The material he collected from the crash site was odd. It couldn’t be burned or damaged in any way.

This could explain why u couldn't blow up the UFO's with a nade :naughty:

If you're looking for research materials you'd not go far wrong heading to your local bulk bookstore. You know the ones where books that used to cost £40 upwards are now like £2-£3. They always have a great ufo section. I bought one recently called 'The Complete UFO sightings guide.' It starts out with sightings reported in the bible and heads to present day. Quite a cool book for UFOlore and IIRC it only cost me £2.50 :)

The Roswell crash has generated much discussion, pro and con, about alien visitation to Earth. I suggest anyone interested in reported "saucer crashes" should look into the crash at Kecksburg, Indiana in 1963, (the craft was found by a troop of camping boyscouts, who alerted the local Fire Department, who in turn notified the military, who removed the spacecraft on a covered flatbed semi.) Kecksburg has an annual "flying saucer parade" and festival commemorating this event every year.

Also of interest is the crash in Brazil in 1996! I believe this is referred to as the Chupacabra case-- it has been reported that a number of EBE's (Extraterrestrial Biological Entities) were sighted, and at least one (accounts vary) were obtained by Brazilian military police-- I believe it was said to have been shot and killed. The creature or creatures are said to have been "confiscated" by U.S. Department of Defense officials and flown back to U.S. soil. X-COM for Real??? Who knows, but it is an interesting and widely reported event in South America.

I'm gonna just scour the net 4 ne thing I think is related, most won't be very helpful but some might nudge an idea into someone's head. Not really much of a UFO freak myself, but I'll see what I can russle up.

Heck, if you want UFO document stuff, just go to:

The Black Vault - a bunch of real documents that people have requested from various government agencies using the USA's Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)

and...

Majestic Documents - I believe the FBI says these documents are a hoax. Whatever they are, though, they're fun to read. :D In fact, you can probably find something about them on the FBI's website...

erm, can i request that we dont metion roswel anywhere in the game. its just been overdone. other more obscuor events would be better than the one that everyone has heard too much about and has already made thier own opinion about.

I agree, like I said b4, I'm no UFO nut and I spose when I hear another reference to Roswell I always end up groaning at the sameeness ( Is that a word?? ) of it all. Unless it is some plausable reference that hasn't already been done, which could be a very big challenge.
