80 Item Stack Bug In Base Defense?

Hi guys,

Just got another quick question to do with bases defenses. Lets say you have a sky ranger loaded with equipment docked in a base which is being retaliated against by aliens. Which do the first 80 items come from, the sky ranger, or the base? I mean do all the items get counted from the sky ranger first, and then the remaining from the base storage, until you reach 80, or how does it work?

Thanks by the way to NKF to always answers my posts, and seem to be a total Xcom1 guru. :)

Guru? Pff. I've just been around the forums for far too long. Nothing more. ;)

The transport and base equipment are pooled together. Then the first 80 items are generated based on the order of the equipment.

All this leads me to an interesting question. What about Skyrangers that are out on a mission while the attack occurs? I know troops on the plan aren't used in the battle, but what about the equipment? Something to ponder.

Anything that is away from base when the attack goes through isn't available for use. That includes transfers into and out of the base as well as items/crew loaded on a transport. :)

Which means when you see a ship, any ship, on a retaliation mission you should do the following:

1. Spring cleaning - sell off the weapons and ammo you don't want for base defense.

2. Transfer any weapons and ammo to a more secure base you can't stand to sell for whatever reason.

3. Shoot it down.

In that order. :) If it's a battleship then get to it twice as fast. Those things can move out AND may be commited to an assault.
