Wat Did U Get From Looting?

I mainly get fun and many burned corpses. :flame: :devilburn:

Besides I get psiklon and other nice things like marsec armory hung up in the bathroom of a diablo slum. It burned well...

My opinion: Raids are more fun than fighting aliens because when I go on a raid I can burn everything that doesn't look like a psiklon. :birthday: And I can play with my vortex mines...

Marsec:

-Oh, where to start... The gold mine of any looter... Heavy/mini launchers with HE missles. Lots of other guns, including plasma pistols. Lots of ammo for guns, though you don't get IN ammo for any weapon (fire is gang business I guess).

-Marsec armor pieces, mostly body (which is the part that rocks anyway).

-Elerium, not as much as Solmine's, but still, you can never have enough of it, can you?

-Mind shields.

-Lots of greandes. No stun ones, but a lot of explosive ones, as well as prox mines and marsec high explosive packs.

Megapol:

-Guns and grenades as in Marsec.

-Megapol armor.

-Elerium.

-Stun grapples (you don't get these in Marsec).

-Never seen a mind shield in Megapol.

Cult of Sirius:

-My least favourite raiding place by far (the architecture if disgusting, as well as the guys that are defending it). Mostly guns and grenades as in Marsec, though later they start getting alien technology (lots of it, even if they are not infiltrated).

-Psicones (don't think they have elerium).

-No armor or fancy stuff.

-BOOOORIIIIIING.

My favourite organization is Psyke & Diablo. I earn tons of cash for selling all the psi clons and weapons. Sometimes I raid solmine warehouse for elerium, and really rarelly some of MarSec buildings. Never megapol.

I raided the cult one time, and I got 11 Psiklones. It seems that when you bring 24 people to a mission, you get a larger map. More loot, perhaps?

Every single organization gets alien tech after a while. Fortunately, none of them bother with disruptor armor. *phew*

More to the point, no one but X-Com even bothers with wearing any form of body armour. Even the cops, who supply Megapol armour to X-Com, point their fingers at your soldiers and laugh their heads off at the silly looking ant-men who look like they're right off a live action Ultraman set. :) (yes, yes, I do realise the parallell between that and X-Com, but that's neither here nor there)

They get alien tech when you research it, and perhaps start selling. But mainly when you research. Otherwise they just use some pathetic human guns. Only other way for them to get alien guns is when they are controlled by aliens.

There are some bigger maps that can be played ONLY when you bring lots of men. For example there is subway station in slums, and you need like 24 (?) soldeirs to activate it. I don't know about the other maps, though.

Do as I do. Take maximum number of men you can. I tend to take the full 36 men by mid game. That opens the BIG levels. If I get the right level, near end game. Whooooooooooooooohooo. Let's PARTY! :uzzi2: It really can lead to some momentous battles - and that's only aliens......

Do the big levels with aliens have more aliens around? That would be very fun. :)

Also, I tried attacking a UFO, with 24 fully loaded troops. (25 items each, counting armor!) I actually came across a few aliens that didn't have any equipment. Did that happen to anyone else?

If aliens 'infect' some building, and you use bigger strike force, then you'll probably get more targets. When you raid organizations with 36 men, there's huge amount of hostiles, so it may be difficult to keep 'em all unconsious. (Ofcourse if it's stun raid :P) Edited by Extralucas

The captial ships that drop troops into a building can generate truly enormous maps, even if you only bring in four soldiers.

In fact, they're so big and contain so many enemies that you'll be literally playing two normal fixed size maps (the fixed size maps are the huge maps with no randomised rooms).

For example, you could have one of the huge 9 pillar slum block joined up to the castle apartment, the other slum apartments with a carpark, the hedge maze or even the larger car park with the odd trapezoid structure that you can run over or through (and there's a water tower nearby - a curiously good spot for mind controlled teleportation suicide jumps).

Or, in the corporate offices, you could have the huge corporate office complex (the one with the large yellow steps and a big foyer) joined up to the fancy 4 apartment /office buildings.

First few times I had this, I kept wondering if the spitters and multiworms were being spawned out of thin air. There were just so many of them.
