Guest Matt
alright, i know this is a stupid question and probably something easy to figure out but it's 12:30 A.M. and ive lost all patience. Ive beaten the game on my old comp and am going to recreate my old game on the new comp. Ive downloaded the ClarkWehyr Ent. X-COM Editor, unzipped it, and installed it to the computer but when i go to run the XCOMEDIT.EXE all that happens is a blank window opens then immediately closes. any help at all would be appreciated. Thank you
[[Micah]]
Edit the file "cwxced.ini" that is in the editor's directory. You should see these lines: [Files]UFO_Path=\MPS\UFO ; Home directory of X-COM:UFOTFTD_Path=\MPS\TFTD ; Home directory of X-COM:TFTD Change the game paths to match where you have your copy of the games. Due to the fact that the clarkweyr editor is dos-base, you may need to change the way the directory looks in the path. For example, if you're using the collector's edition of UFO Defense and you installed the game to the default folder, you'll enter the following for the UFO_Path: \progra~1\microp~1\x-comc~1\ufodef~1 Hope this helps. j'ordos
Does it give you an error, or just immediately quits? Try using a slowdown utility like turbo Edited August 2, 2003 by j'ordos
cceller
Oh, I am using turbo on the game. I meant the editor closes ....
j'ordos
Then I don't know, it gives an error here if I don't use a slowdown utility on it.
miceless
What gives you an error j'ordos? The editor or the game itself?
j'ordos
The editor.
cceller
OK, I learned if I do not move the mouse while the editor is open it works. Now here is my dilemma - I started a game, saved, closed, opened the editor, made some changes. I go and start the game up, play a bit, save, and close again. The NEXT time I open it, the edits are all gone and I am back to January 1 again. Any ideas? Thanks - Chad
Cpl. Facehugger
I think you have to hit esc when you are done with your editing and then press y to make backups

Pallidar
Just don't move the mouse onto the editor screen. It should work fine otherwise.
