Blood Angel
Somebody appears to have hacked the forums. Upon googling Servirus, the dumb shits who have purportedly done this, I found an entry in another forum detailing their dealing with the attack. http://dsabstraction.com/forum/index.php?s...entry3718 Hope it helps. Troy
They didn't do any real damage, luckily. It's just time-consuming to get all the bits sorted again. Honestly I'd rather ignore the people who did the hacking because giving them attention only gratifies them, sorta like a dog when you pat its head. Guest Azrael
About time we upgraded, I'm thinking the hacker did us a favour
[[Micah]]
ack it's such a pain to upgrade. Ironically fixing this mess was easier than upgrading would have been.
Guest Azrael
I always got the impression from Pete and Zombie that upgrading was very simple, it's the skinning that's supposed to be hard since sometimes it has to be redone, but we're using the ugly default one, so
[[Micah]]
There were a lot of invisible changes I would make to suit my preferences which would dissappear with every little incremental upgrade. After this upgrade I have decided not to do most of those changes in order to make upgrading less painful.
Mark0
probably some bunch of immature ill mannered persons having fun. good thing that the damage was small. *bows to Micah*
[NKF]
I was trying to read the Quicksave topic in the TFTD forum and get this message: Sorry, but you do not have permission to use this feature. If you are not logged in, you may do so using the form below if available. I was definitely logged in. But that's just one example, I can't seem to open any other thread (besides this one, that is, else I wouldn't be able to post this!) Also my mod status for the UFO forum seems to have vanished. Oh well. Problems are to be expected until everything is back to normal. - NKF
[[Micah]]
NKF, I edited some of your permissions. Please tell me what you get now.
bamb
Thanks for maintaining this forum, and getting it up after the hacker attacks. Here are some things that currently have problems: The front page of the forum does NOT work unless you are logged in, you can't see the subforums. It's a rather daunting bug, since the forums contain lots of useful information. That is now practicallly unaccessible to guests. The page that is broken for guests: http://www.xcomufo.com/forums/ Also the subforums like ufo2000 forum don't work, you can't see the subcategories. (Unless you're logged in) You have to know the thread to see a forum. Actually, my login was deleted in the hacking attempt (couldn't recover password). After mailing, I figured it'd be faster to just create a new account. From which I'm now posting from. It'd also be cool if ufo2000.xcomufo.com went up, if not for the ufo 2000 server, at least for one particular source zip file that resides there that nobody seems to have for sharing with me. Thank you for the feedback, bamb. We were waiting to recreate the usergroups before fixing guest access also. We'll look in to the UFO2000 forums this evening. The ufo2000.xcomufo.com was running on a server that died (not the one these forums are on.) We're working on putting up another server on which we will be ready and willing to run the UFO2000 server software again. [NKF]
Well, it looks like I can see the forums again. And read and post to the threads in the other sub sections as well. Cheers. - NKF

Zombie
The problem is that the new forum upgrade included another permission field named "download". The admins probably didn't realize this and thus members can't see attached files. Will contact Micah to see if he can sort it out. - Zombie
[[Micah]]
Vacation kept me away for a bit. Our new server is online and most websites including these forums have been moved to it. The downloads and uploads 'should' be working now I tested it as a regular forum user. Also, quickedit works as far as I am able to tell. Continued feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys. [[Micah]]
All usergroups have been recreated, configured, and populated. If anyone has any more access problems please let me know asap. Well technically I haven't populated Duplicate Accounts and Test Accounts, but that can wait quite a while I'll take down the nasty sign at the top of the index in about a week. Did I forget anything else?

Darkhomb
you are correct their company website talks about 2.3 but the ipboard main site only says 2.2 http://www.invisionpower.com/ip.dynamic/corporate/news/
Guest Azrael
I assume that upgrades are made available first to those that already purchased a licence.
[[Micah]]
I received no communication that there was a new version, and the admin panel here claims that this version is up to date. I do see on their website that there is a newer stable version, as you say. I'll look into it.
