MiniMacker
I'm using Seb76's UFO Extender with Xcomutil, and things have been a little buggy. UFOExtender seems to override a lot of Xcomutil's stuff, but I'm loving the stats in the equipment view, the ability re-arrange soliders in the Skyranger and the TFTD doors (Open without stepping through). I've been trying to use the Psi screening option on Xcomutil, in short it sets the soldiers minimum psi skill to 1. But I have the second option as well, only activate the screening when a Psi-Lab is built; and I have! I tried waiting out the month, I got the normal Psi training screen, clicked it through, but no change. I still can't see their Psi-Strength. So is this UFOExtender's fault? Is it overriding an option for Xcomutil? I do have it set to let Xcomutil run through UFOExtender. heck, I even randomized the map. (Which gives some funky results). halp moar. Edit: Ah, poopenmier. I think I noticed the problem. According to page 93 in the readme of Xcomutil it says I should use the RunXcom and not the original UFOExtender. The setup is a little misleading, I guess. Or I'm an idiot. I'm probably an idiot, yeah. Edit2: I also noticed that if you enable 'No intro' in the UFOExtender.ini, the game won't start through Xcomutil, it just crashes with an error. (For me, at least) Was about to moan about it, but trial and error worked. Edited May 27, 2010 by MiniMacker
MiniMacker
And another bump. Even with using RunXcom, psi-screening doesn't seem to work. Edit : *Sigh* Well, it didn't work for me until I changed the settings from Psi-Screening only when the Psi-Lab is built to Always, and it works. Sort of unbalances it, but it's good enough, I guess... Edited May 29, 2010 by MiniMacker
BladeFireLight
it's only if PSI lab is researched. I dont currently check to see if it's built
MiniMacker
I've checked it, though. I run the set-up, pick my options including the Psi-screening (with lab), but it won't work. Not even after a combat session the new stats are shown. It only functions when I tick the other option of displaying it at all times, even with or without the Psi-lab researched. BladeFireLight
I have added it to my list of things to check.
Idgy
I have added it to my list of things to check. I've experienced this bug as well. I'm using build 442 of the 9.7 beta, running in DOSBox 0.74. I chose to have the psi-screening done only after I'd researched Psi-Labs, and I've verified this by looking at the "Units" section of Lastop.bat. The option currently shows "set ScrTyp=Lab". However, no units got the auto-screening after the Psi-Lab was researched, and none got it after the Psi-Lab construction completed either. I don't know if this is specifically the problem, but one thing that does seem odd to me: XcomUtil.log shows that after every mission, one of the steps is "Checking XcomUtil\flags\AUTOSCRN.XCF". However, no such file exists in the Flags directory; instead I have "Labscrn.xcf", whose contents are just a single line: "Screening for MC with Lab". I'm just assuming AutoScrn.xcf is related to psi-screening so I could be wrong about this.
ranst4038
I've experienced this bug as well. I'm using build 442 of the 9.7 beta, running in DOSBox 0.74 I changed the name of the file labscrn.xcf in XcomUtil\flags to autoscrn.xcf and that fixed it. Thanks Idgy that was an easy fix!!
